To all you women out there!

Don’t ever miss your annual!

Why am I saying this? I am sure that many of you have seen the recent commercials (especially if you live in the USA) about the new vaccine that helps you protect yourself against the virus that causes Cervical Caner. Well girls, just as a courtesy to all those who might not know, this vaccine can help you to prevent years of worry. I contracted HPV, the virus that causes cancer, when I was 24 years old. I had a few areas removed from my cervix at that age and everything came back fine until just this year. I am now 35 and have had a reccurrence of the pre-cancerous cells. Hopefully I have had another successful treatment, and it will stay in remission forever this time. This virus never goes away, and can reappear at any time and age.

So, all you women, do your part to protect yourself from this worry and take the necessary action to keep yourself safe! If you can, get the vaccine, and never miss an annual appointment.

Sorry.. I was nosy. ;) Thank you for sharing your story with us. And for all you other guys out there that were nosy like me… Always support your women in this endeavor. They need it sometimes, it can be a scary thing for them. Hey, if it were not for women, WE’D NEVER go to the doctor… so rally around your princesses and let them know you love them, and want them around a good long time!
love and bright blessings~
Richard

My daughter is 11 and she got it. It is a series of three shots over a period of 6 months.

While we are on the subject of female concerns - here is a clip from a news cast on Breast Cancer, one not id’d by Mammogram and can strike a female at any age…

From the Author:
Just an additional note for those who already have HPV. There are several types of HPV out there, but only four that cause cancer. It is a very slow growing cancer. That is why I go very regularly for my exams, because it is very treatable. My doctor told me that even those who have one of the four HPV’s can still get the vaccination, to help prevent the other three.

Is the vaccine available everywhere? Outside the USA?
