Some computer help.

I don’t really know that much about computers so i need a bit of help.

I recently was sent a new laptop after my old one broke, anywho everything on this new computer is exactly the same except this new one has NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT and the old one has ATI Mobility Radeon X1400.

so what’s the difference and is NVIDIA better??

First it is the video card that you are talking about.
It is debated at which is better. From what I have heard, most people think that Nvidia is better for gaming on pc’s. but ultimately they are the same, it is just a diferent company that makes the video card.

I just did a bit of quick research and yes they are comparable.
and posible the nvidia is a bit better because from what I can tell it has it’s own memory, and does not use the pc memory. but dont quote me on that. I just could not find any information on the Radeon having it’s own memory.
