Are you looking for answers about problems with your AOL service?

I’d like to recommend that you ask AOL directly since they are best suited to help you.

For AOL support, you can visit the AOL support site or even call them at an AOL toll free number.

I used to work for Hp and that model should have AOL installed on it with the factory settings, so if you have just reinstalled AOL, try reformating the pc with the recovery disks that should have come with the pc, or the ones that you would have made when the pc was first turned on.

If you have any other questions about it just let me know.

They bought it used, they said it worked fine then out of nowhere it changed. I think someone deleted the wrong thing. I’m just trying to help my Granddaughter.Do you have any other options that might help?

If you got it used then I would have to suggest just Reformating the pc. Did you get a set of 2-12 disks with the pc. they would say, “HP Recovery Disk 1-12″ or anything similar to that?
If not do you have a Windows XP CD that you have purchased from the store?

Okay then what I would sugest is to use that and reformat the pc. this way all the settings can be customized for your Granddaughters needs.
However by doing this you would lose all information on the pc.

The other potential solution to this would be to use a different internet service provider. Is AOL the ISP?
Because if as an example Bell South is your ISP and you are just using the AOL browser. just uninstall AOL all together and use the Internet Explorer Browser, that comes with windows.

I have had similar problems loading that disk On WIN200. I don’t think that you need to burn down the entire system to get it installed. If you upgrade to WINXP you will need a license (WIN2000 dose not require activation). The system will only run for two weeks without activation. If you don’t have a license Microsoft will charge you a fee from $30 to $100 to activate it. If you call AOL they will talk you through the install manually.

Good Luck Ron
