i am pleased and i am scared, I just got offered a

real job from a major web corporation and my salary will be more than double of what i was even expecting… i am scared, i am pleased. i am everything and in between. math is my true love, but i can excel like no one’s business in web development. i am definitely an above average intelligence smart kind of guy, but that only makes me a perhaps less than mediocre mathematician. But I can be a phenom web developer tech. Please send me your best wishes to perfect the art of time management. I am at IHOP all you can eat, I have alot on my plate. That was a metaphor. Im not really at Ihop. I just have alot on my plate.

Congratulations Rook. If web development fails, I hear there is good money in metaphor writing. :)

Ahh. IHop sounds good. You ever hear the joke about the lady with one eye and one leg?
They called her IHop. No?
Ok. Your way out of my league, but why not take the job and use it to launch the most amazing web developement corp. to ever exist. Either way follow your heart and you should end up happy.

Congratulations on your job. A wise (and rich) man once told me to take the opportunities presented before me, but the only way to succeed in life is to have personal dreams and goals. He said to write down exactly where I want to be in 5 yrs, 10 yrs, and 20 yrs, and reach for the stars. Then start from where I am at and make every step I take count towards those goals.
This job sounds great, and it doesn’t mean you have to do it the rest of your life. If money is what you need now, then there you go. But always keep your dreams in mind, and if you don’t have them in concrete yet, then enjoy the benefits of this job while you take time to figure it out.
Congratulations and good luck. Sounds like you’re on the right track.

My personal dreams and goals may not quite line up with what makes money. I started to have crazy dreams about what that much money for one guy would be like. I mean, im like DUDE, what, THAT MUCH FOR ME? You are the 55,146,441 richest person in the world! according to http://www.globalrichlist.com/

Oh also from there

$8 could buy you 15 organic apples OR 25 fruit trees for farmers in Honduras to grow and sell fruit at their local market.

$30 could buy you an ER DVD Boxset OR a First Aid kit for a village in Haiti.

$73 could buy you a new mobile phone OR a new mobile health clinic to care for AIDS orphans in Uganda.

$2400 could buy you a second generation High Definition TV OR schooling for an entire generation of school children in an Angolan village.

Microsoft CEO Bill Gates has more wealth than the bottom 45 percent of American households combined.

AIDS orphans in Uganda. Think about that. Okay now Rook feels sad

im reminded of about schmidt

Watch this one, he is writing to the little boy he sponsors through the World Children’s Fund.
“Relatively soon, I will die. What difference will I have made with my life?”

Original on YouTube.com

Then immediately watch the continuing part

Original on YouTube.com

And i guess to answer this question, the difference I want to make with my life is to write answer keys for undergraduates and math amateurs to truly learn and appreciate upper division math. If i can touch one person’s life with my own answer keys / discussion books I will pray to the Lord. (I am not religious, but I might be religious at that moment)

People who make good money and live comfortable live often forget get about the unfortuanate because to think about them makes tham feel uncomfortable and for many comfort is the goal of life. I am so glad that you have this new opportunity in your life. I am also glad that it is happening to such a nice person and I am sure no matter how comfortable you became you will not forget about those who were never afforded the opportunities that you were.

Rook you make me smile, and sometimes laugh—it’s ok tho, i have a panty belt. hahah

Seriously, if your first love is math, go for it. If you just want to be fantastically phenomenal at something—do the web design. Or if you have enough from one (money/time) do both.

Pass the blueberry syrup!

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention I enjoy that movie…good stuff.
The first time I tried to watch it I wasn’t in the mood for a quiet, kinda slow movie. But the next time I watched it I really got into it, and loved it.
