I have a problem with my wireless internet router.

I’m purchasing a new laptop, with a pre-installed wireless chip inside. I’ve been told that all that I need to purchase is a wireless router, which will plug into my cable modem. I’ve bought the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router, and took it home, thinking all was well.

However, when I went to plug the internet cable from my computer into the router, I found that my computer uses a USB cord to connect to the internet. I’ve searched my computer all around, but there are no ethernet ports anywhere. This seems a bit bizzare…

Does anyone know if there are wireless routers with USB ports?

Simplest solution: You can grab a wireless->usb connector to work with your existing equipment.

How would a wireless USB connector work in my case? Would it plug into my computer, and pick up the signal from my Linksys router, pretty much acting as the cord from my computer to my router?

Yes that dose sound strange but, if your laptop doesn’t have an Ethernet jack you can buy a PCMCIA Network card which slides into a slot on the side of your laptop For about $20.00. If you don’t have a large computer store around you can probably pick one up at Wal-mart or Radio Shack. You will only need to use this connection for the initial setup. Once you have setup the router it doesn’t require a computer to be connected and you can use the wireless feature if you want…

You have two problems. 1. By piggy backing on someone elses post you woun’t get very many replys. You need to create a new post. 2. from the information you supplied we would have to be a mind reader. Please supply details on your equipment and a discription of your problem…
