omg i HATE HSM. i dont like rap or pop or hip hop. i think heavy metal and rock etc is becoming a lot more popular, i know luv it
well iv just watched the kerrang awards norminations and i no i def love it and alot of people seem to be getting more into it. =P
i think you should narrow your question a little bit.
for example: “Honestly, is rap/hip-hop the most popular music among high school students today??”
also, why do you ask?
well.. i asked the question like i did because it was meant to be a broad one. it wasnt directing to high school students directly. i am in my third year of college. it wasnt only to young people.
oh, well in that case…
it seems likely that, out of the whole human population, rap is even familiar to a majority, let alone preferred…
Rap might not be the most popular, but it is the most marketed in the US..It’s everywhere, which makes it seem to be THE thing.
But I think that if you looked at record sales, request lists, and such, you would see that, currently (just a guess) Classic Rock, and Country, are higher on the list than Rap…and, by indivitual artist, there are SOOO many Rap artist, that the popularity is spread pretty thin.
Now, you being in Atlanta, Ga, one of the Cradles of Rap, could make it seem much more prevelant than it really is…
Living in Austin,Tx might do the same for country, and living in Orlando, Fl, you might just believe that High School Musical is the most popular thing since the beatles.
you are right. my location could be the reason why my insight about things, such as the popularity of music could be a little close minded. i appreciate your opinion.
I love rap and hip-hop. I also love rock. It just depends on the mood. If I’m feelin’ gangsta I’ll put on some T.I. and crank the sh!t up. If I’m feeling down, I’ll throw in some Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. If I’m feeling pissed, Disturbed is always a good vent. Open your minds and try something new. I didn’t like rap before either but I just listened over and over and now I love it. Don’t hate until you’ve tried it. Peace.
I’ve tried it. I regret it.
