getting new music on to ipod

I just got a new 30g ipod, and it worked great at first all the music that i already had on my computer went on to it with no problem. Since then I’ve downloaded more music and i cannot get it to transfer to my ipod. It is in my Itunes folder, but it wont go to the ipod. The folder isn’t actually the library folder, its a different one and i cant create new playlists with the new music or anything. I dont know if im just completly dumb or what. If anyone could help that would be great! Thanks

Hi Ericka,

Your music needs to be added to your Library in order to be added to your iPod. You can add entire folders to your library, so uder File > Add Folder to Library and just select the folder (probably iTunes music)

When downloading songs, unfortunately I don’t think that saving them into your iTunes folder automatically adds them to your library, I think you still have to tell iTunes to add the songs (which doesn’t take long … I believe on a technical level this is because the filenames need to be added to a sort of “master list”, an iTunes Music Library .xml file)

Hope that helps !
