I have a tattoo on my inner wrist and I just got a job as a teachers assistant at a christian school.
I was wondering if I should cover it up(it could easily be covered up by a band aid) Do you think they will judge me for this or be cool with it?
I dont want them to end up changing their minds on hiring me over a little tattoo!

what’s the tattoo of? if you don’t mind me asking.
and do they already know you have it?
you could just ask the person in charge.
of course i have no idea so don’t take my word for it.
I have a tattoo on my wrist as well. What I did is I wore a watch with a wide band to cover the tatoo for the first few months. After I got to know everyone, it just didn’t see like such a big deal anymore. So I stopped feeling like I had to wear the watch all the time. I also started to notice that some others had tattoos. If you don’t think of it as a big deal, others will likely follow your lead and not view it as a big deal either. The key is to not draw attention to it (don’t point it out or have unnecessary conversations about it at work). As a side note, I wouldn’t wear a bandaid. It can look like you are covering a self-injury.
my school i teach at is really strict about stuff like that, yeah, a band aid would be fine, just where a long sleaved shirt as well though, but if its like a star or a nice thing maybe they would care, but if its like.
“F_U_C_K america” i dont think they will allow it, :P
I have a tattoo on my inner wrist as well and I am also Christian. I also know several Christians who have judged me for it. I agree with the “true Christians” would not see it as a problem but you have to realistic here. People like to form their own ideas of you based on appearence…unfortunately that includes Christians.
On covering it up, I would. I even had a person tell me that the tattoo on her ankle has become a problem for her and she teaches in a public school. I don’t like to generalize but it does seem to be the “older generation” that seems to have issues with this…”younger generation” do not seem to be as judging of a tattoo.

Cover it, then read the dress code and uncover it if you can. There are plenty of christians with tatoos. If the dress code doesn’t allow it, you should still be able to show it around work people when not in the office. They’re only allowed to judge you when they are perfect.
regardless….do you really want to work for an organization that is that close minded? everywhere in the bible that talks literally of tattooing is only prohibited of doing so for “the dead” and not to mourn them because they are with him now… do the research so if they say anything about it ask them to show you where in the bible it says they are not allowed… although if it is something satanic its probably not a good idea to show it…
I’m a teacher and I just got a tattoo on the inside of my wrists. One is the chinese symbol of mother and the other of twins. I am a mother of twins and I am proud to display it. I chose this area, because I want others to see it. I figure what is the point of having it if noone can see it. My school is a pretty liberal school, we have teachers with tats on wrists (outside) and on the ankles, or feet where they can be seen (a lot of sandle wearing). So, I had one covered up with my watch today and the other showing. No one said anything to me. If I am in a meeting with a parent or last night I went to the board meeting, then I cover both up with watch and a bracelet. I wear jewelry anyway, so it really doesn’t make a difference. I guess I want people to ask me what it means, and if I go somewhere else where I am asked to cover it, then I will do so. In any case I love my tats and what they stand for. :)
