I’m 5′4 and 120lbs and I hate myself and how fat I
am and I know I’m not really ‘fat’ but I feel grotesque and huge and I won’t eat for a few days and then eat the world and then not eat and on and on and on and I’m going CRAZY and I can’t stand living inside my ******* BODY anymore and I wish I could just break free and fly away above the city above the buildings and trees and people and never have to worry about food or eating again

ok, thats lighter than me and im exactly the right weight for my height. im just over 9 stone and im 5ft3. you have nothing to worry about, you’re not fat :)
how old are you?
you know…this is no way to treat your body. yo yo eating then not eating like this will screw your metabolism soooo bad.
if youre young that can affect you the rest of your life.

which is at the lower end of completely normal, healthy and NOT fat.
i know those feelings you have are overwhelming-i have them too. i gave into mine, and right now im struggling to survive anorexia.
please please please dont go the same way as me. it sucks. A LOT.
most often all these feelings we have about our bodies and weight are not related to food at all really, they come from another place of pain inside us.
why is it that you dont like yourself so much you deprive your body of what it needs?

Most of the time its about control. You have the power to control this and that usually why people do this. Do the people around you have srtong personalities. Is it hard for you to confront them? Do you not have control of your life? If not this is what you need to address. Don’t hurt yourself . Tell someone you feel close to. You need help.
From the description of your height and weight you do not seem fat at all. Perhaps it would do you good to get some counseling and deal with your eating issues since this could be problematic in regards to having an eating disorder. Sometimes family and friends can be overly critical about our appearance and sometimes we see ourselves in a way that is not realistic because we live in a society that is somewhat superficial.
Love and accept yourself and seek help it does not make you less of a person to reach out when in doubt.

Fat? 5″4 , 120 pounds? I am 5″4 and I weigh in at a whopping 175 pounds. I’ve been vegging out, eating fish and doing my best but I can’t shake it off! I’d be content at 145 pounds!!!!!!!
WOW, i am exactly where you are, 5′4 and 120lbs and geuss what i get complements on my body all the time. Normaly im surprised when i hear them because i have issues to, and sometimes think im overweight, but in reality im really not. So honney you need to stuff thoese feelings right back down from where they came from and enjoy the beautifull body your in.

I’m 5′3 and my weight tends to fluctuate between 112 and 118lbs and occasionally I don’t like that I weigh that much, since everyone else seems to weigh less, but mostly I like how I look and I don’t think there is anything wrong with not being just skin and bone. I’d be quite scared if when I looked in the mirror I could see each rib defined and eagerly looking to jump out of my skin, and that goes for all bones.
If you usually eat a reasonable diet, and get all of the nutritional items that you need, then you don’t have anything to worry about, just try to eat healthily, and not stress over your weight/what others think about it; Stress isn’t going to help you mentally or physically. Your body will do what it is supposed to do if you give it the tools to do so. I have found that people tend to have a ‘natural weight’ as it were that is comfortable for their body to maintain if they eat reasonably; It’s not going to be good for your weight or any other part of you to fast and binge repeatedly, if it all. I suggest you do what you can to deal with that issue.

Being 120lbs at 5′4″ is healthy - If anything, it’s edging towards UNDERweight. I weigh almost exactly the same, and I couldn’t be happier that I finally hit 8st+, because I’ve been skinny forever and it’s not fun, trust me. Being able to count your ribs is actually quite scary.
So be happy with your body! 120lbs is anything but fat. Eat healthily, excersize daily and you’ll get toned up, which helps you stop feeling fat even when you aren’t. Excersize actually releases endorphins, which make you happy, too!
I know how you feel. I too struggle with anorexia. Try to go the right way. It’s so painful and so trapping–so consuming when you get this far. I’m not underweight, but I am fighting.

I know that this was posted almost three years ago, but i just wanted to know how the poster is doing? I am the same height and weight. From reading all of the comments it seems to me that its common to be five-four and weight 120lb or 8.6 stone. I struggled with weight but soon realized that i didnt have to. I just needed to have more self confidence in myself. No one should have to fit in the impossible mold that society has cast. I work out and love my toned and fit body. I hope that the poster loves their body now and is doing well.
im 5′4 and 120 lbs. I honestly have a great body, so i hear. and i believe that its just the number that freaks me out! i work out pretty much every day, and have a pretty good diet. i just hate that i’m 120lbs!!!!

You shouldn’t be concerned about your weight! I’m 5′4″ and 120ibs too! I have a HUGE butt and I’m sort of an hourglass shape, I believe just becuase you don’t look like a twig doesn’t mean your not good looking. For example I don’t have a perfectly “flat” stomach, its not like fat, but its not perfect. I used to let that get me down but now i realized that guys aren’t always just looking to see if you have a little tummy! they look at your best feature, and a lot of times they don’t even notice your flaws. CONFIDENCE IS KEY! look at your self in the mirror everyday and tell yourself that your HOT. If you seriously believe it other people will to, trust me on this one. If you want to loose weight though, you have to stop binge eating. You can seriously make yourself sick if you continue binge eating, don’t do that to yourself! Studies have also shown that you GAIN weight when you binge eat, so if your trying to loose weight that’s not the path to take. The only way to really loose weight, AND KEEP IT OFF, is to exercise for at least 45 minute daily and eat breakfast, lunch,and dinner. two snacks can be allowed daily. Another thing is portion control. Don’t pig out during those three meals. That second serving of fries will bite you in the butt! When you starve yourself, or even skip breakfast, your body goes into survival mode (im not kidding) and it stores EVERY LAST CALORIE you eat. It also slows your metabolism. If you eat regularly scheduled meals and two snakes a day then your metabolism will be burning the calories you eat and the extra fat you want to loose! BUT YOU DON’T HAVE TO LOOSE WEIGHT. Flaunt what you got, and make people believe that your hot.
Okay! I’m 13 I am 5′4 and 120 lbs! I feel the same way you do! But you know you most likely don’t live on a farm… Anyway Don’t go on and off food like that. Try taking smaller amounts of food, walking anywhere you can, stay away from reallllllly surgery things.
My mom bakes lots so its really hard for me to not eat them :/ I live out of town so I can’t walk many places, and I am starting to take less food. I just don’t want you to have to become anorexic!
My sister-in-law was when she was younger and in messed up her life!
It would be nice it I lost 10/15 lbs so I bet thats what you think to.
Also girls that our my age and 95 lbs are kinda ugly and look to much like walking dead that have bin in the ground for years!

Not sure how old this post is but i know how you feel. I guess technically your weight and height are healthy but you might have issues with your overall shape. Try working out 5 days a week and just cutting out sugary and fatty things from your diet. It will be far more effective than starving yourself cuz thats just going to confuse your body into storing any and all food it gets. Just try it for a month and i promise you, you will have a more toned sexier body :)
Hang in there! It just takes a little bit of exercise and discipline.
120lbs is not fat. I’m the same height as you and I’m 133lbs, I’d kill to be 120 and I used to hate myself and how I looked, I also used to have the same eating pattern (still do sometimes)but considering I used to be 168lbs and my weight is not changing, I’ve just learned to live with it - with everyone telling me that I’m fine and I don’t need to lose weight, I don’t believe them at all.
Believe me friend, from someone who empathises - you’re fine. Try and be happy (I know it’s not easy) but it’s a start :)
This is really sad to see a post like this, I’m 5ft4 and 120 lbs, at the moment! I have people telling me im too skinny and then some people saying I’m just right. I don’t think anyone will ever be happy with their weight and everyone has a few lumps and bumps they would rather not have, I’d rather have smaller thighs but thats life! I know it’s easier to say than do but you need to look after what u have, eat healthy, just cut out rubbish, I have gone weeks before just drinking milkshakes and I went down to just under 8 stone, my face looked terrible, remember that with a little weight on you you look so much better, boys and men don’t like girls who have frames like 10year olds, they like a nice body with a bit of weight!
One bit of advise, eat properly and don’t go for weeks trying to loose weight, I have crohns disease and it’s been made worse because I didn’t look after my diet, I have to see a doctor once a month, a dietician twice a month and occasionally have to spend weeks at a time in hospital because I haven’t looked after my diet, and all I have got out of it is having to take tablets for the rest of my life, now i can’t control my weight and when I’m put on steroids I don’t leave the house as my ankles swell and my face looks like a giant heffer! We all know that feeling!
Just remember that it isn’t always about your weight, it’s the person you are on the inside. I have learnt that!
