I have problems sleeping.
School starts tomorrow: I have to get up at 7:30am.
The thing is, to get my 8 hours, I have to be asleep at 11:30pm.
But even at 11:30pm, I’m not tired at all.
So it takes me literally hours to get to sleep.
So I don’t get 8 hours.
Please help?

You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
…..do not turn on anything electrical or watch t.v or anything at least anhour before because it makes you more awake, try herbal sleeping pills.
dont eat just before for bed
serious tho… when i have problems.. i lay still an close my eyes and imagin my body in every minute detail from the toes up… never get past the knees.. (thankfully)..:0)
stop trying to think about sleeping, thats probably y u cant, you just have to accpet the fact you cant sleep and you normally drop off

3. Get rid of anything that causes you to overthink prior to sleeping, and/or remove items that you use prior to sleep. Basically stop doing certain activities that you do 3 hours prior to sleeping. This may seem inefficient, but it isn’t. You can replace those activities with something else, perhaps exercise/meditation or any other form of physical activity, like perhaps cleaning your room, washing dishes, etc. Activities that involve social networks will probably keep you up more than others.7. This isn’t a tip it is more advice on sleeping. People seem to find that sleeping must be natural or that people must sleep at predetermined times. Sleep seems to hold little questions to it, at least for most people, so you should of course explore yourself and sleep. Figure things out, this is of course a progress of growth. It is something that needs to be learned through experience and experimentation. I wish you good luck.
Thank you, I have quoted the ones I find most useful :)
3: I’m pretty much always on facebook just before I go to bed. I should stop that.
But even if I’m not, I still overthink - I am a bit of a thinker, no matter how blonde I am lol.
7: I can’t sleep at the natural time.
My mum, and school both stop that.
My natural time to sleep is about 5am-12am.
Obviously, if I need to be at school at 8:30am, I can’t do that.
Have you thought maybe you don’t the sleep? or are you having trouble with concentration, etc? Not everyone is the same and maybe if you’ve been away from school for a while when you return you might fall back into a routine.
Sorry I didn’t check my post before I replied. I meant do you NEED the sleep?

A new note. When I said exploration and experimentation of sleep, I mean try number 6 and/or other ways to stay awake during the day. This will help you how to make sleeping habits and thereby sleep when you want to.
There are some other tips, like I spent two hours prior to sleeping simply lying in my bed thinking. It can be about anything and generally after lying there and thinking about say physics or psychology, I will begin to fall asleep.
One time, when I was really crunched for time, I adopted a military style sleeping pattern. I would sleep thirty minutes - one hour at a time. But my total sleep time per day was 4 hours-5 hours, which is a dramatic difference from my normal sleep time of nine hours. I didn’t feel sleepy, but it was rather hard to budget the time this way.
You can also attempt to set new sleeping patterns by NOT sleeping at your natural time. Then allowing the sleepiness to build up to a point where it becomes almost unbearable, at which point you then go to sleep at the predetermined time. This works too. I wish you luck.
I simply can’t.
Because of school.

I need sleep.
Everyone does.
It is school that is causing the problem.
Drink milk and read a boring book. From http://nosleep.in
if you have a tv in your bedroom chuck it out.
if you have a pc in your bedroom chuck it out.
if you have anything in your bedroom other than a bed chuck it out.
i should really follow my own advise but i dont.i do cope though
i start work at 6:30 in the morning
my first alarm goes off at 5:40 the second at 5:50 the third at 6
on the third alarm i turn my tv on using the remote so minimal movement is required! then i sit up in my bed for another couple of minutes before my 4th alarm goes off at 6:04. then i get up put my work clothes on, make some sandwiches and a drink and chuck some chocolate bars and fruit in my bag, quickly put my motorbike gear and i usually get out the house just befor 6:20.
i then race to work (only 5 miles) and normally clock in at 6:29…a whole minute early!
oh and im up at night usually untill 11 or 12 either watching telly or dvds or playing on my PS3. when im a work i always think to myself “definatley going to bed at 9.30 tonight” and i feel tired all day at work……untill i get home and im completey fine and feel as though i may never need sleep again.
and repeat

This is quite…
…impractical.
I have 2 tvs in my room, but like…they are both off and one I can’t even see.
