What did you do for labor day weekend?
I had four days off, so I went to Camden and Rockland, ME with my kids and my friend Dawn to see a boat show. My son Jacob (he’s five) got to meet some real live pirates (okay not really) and tour a pirateship. My daughter connie (she’s two) ran after ducks and fed them bannanna bread.

I did homework, and lots of it. Barely any socializing at all. =/
Rekaru: you should go out and have fun more!
Fourthings: Labor day is the first Monday of September. It means the start of fall and end of summer. And hopefully, for some it means a day off.
Sleeping is good stuff. Yeah, I did a bunch of that too. Instead of housework!
I know I should, but I was just overwhelmed a bit last weekend.
Oooh, sounds fun, hmm… what did I do monday… I did take a day off ironically, I think I was here most of the day.
@graceconnie0: Yeah, mainly by homework. And I still didn’t finish it all, despite my efforts. Luckily the teacher extended the due date to this Monday.
They even have labor day parades here (I didn’t go). But sometimes yeah, it can be fun. like anything else I suppose.
rekaru: too bad they already threw crazy homework at you. My son started kindergarden yesterday and was so excited about it! I bet he won’t be this exited when he turns 16.
graceconnie0: Haha, yeah. Most people lose interest after they reach the first grade. Honestly though, I really love going to school, I just hate the homework that accompanies each class.
Rekaru, you think the homework is bad now, just wait until college! I remember professor loading me down with ten page papers, studying, ect, ect. Your living the good life right now. Oh, sorry, don’t mean to scare you.
Haha, no I already get 10-20 page papers every other week for one of the three AP classes I take. AP classes are basically college courses.
And Heather, I’m so glad to know that I’m not the only one to like school. =)
Or, so you are enjoying the torcure early! But, then, learning and term papers is more fun than working. But I can’t really say that, because I enjoy my work… I guess I mean those people with real jobs.
Oh, I love writing in general. And if everything goes alright and I become a psychiatrist like I plan to, than I’ll love my job. =)
That would be an interesting job. Then you get to meet real crazy people!
I went to my inlawns house and we shot a bunch of guns off for a few hours. Then we had a BBQ! I saw a Black Bear in the middle of the road ~chuckles~. We looked each other in the eyes and he was trying to decide whether he wanted water bad enough to go to the stream or run back in to the forrest, after about 20 seconds he ran back up into his safety zone ~smiles~.
I worked out Monday and just kind of relaxed most the day. I drank a couple beers. I hope everyone had an awesome holiday!
Sounds like Washington is just like Maine… in the middle of the woods with a bunch of hillbillies (I mean that in a todally nice way, I like hillbillies). Did you know there is a county up here, Aroostic County (can’t spell it) that once declared war on Canada? They were mad about something to do with lumber, got drunk… burned something down in Canada, and, well… won! I guess that takes guts, one county against a country (i think it lasted a week or so).
No I didn’t know that, but yes I think all country folk are similiar in their simple life, which has nothing to do with the complexity of their minds ~smiles~. I lived in cities for years and can’t stand them anymore ~smiles~.
We have deer across the street, a cougar that lives a few blocks down the road, and a plethora of other animals. We had a moose here last spring just standing in a swamp ~chuckles~. We have Grizzly, Badgers, Antelope, Mountain Goats, Rams, Elk, Bobcats, Coyotes, and then a cornicopia of small rodents and avians ~smiles~.
I love walking out my door and seeing wildlife in the middle of the day ~smiles~.
Sounds quite beautiful. I have lots of beauty out here too (we are called vactionland for a reason), but lately I’m so busy working I barely get time to enjoy it. Still, its a wonderful place to raise kids, I mean chase after kids.
It was an awesome day, Grace!
