Info please, I am a single parent who is in way over my head.

I dont want money I simply need advice and help. I am Diabetic and I dont take care of myself like I should. I either make too much or not enough to get assistance. I have a job and I am grateful I get by. But the truth is i was young and used a lot of credit to get things for my child and the cards were only 250 dollars in credit. I would keep up with the minumum but then it was out of control before I knew it just out of control. Now the cards are in thousands of dllars in debt which I tried to pay and i just couldnt. I have been sued and harrassed.
I even tried a debt solutions program and I got screwed out three grand. I dont receive any help from my childs father. I have stopped taking medicine cause I can not afford it. I am on five diffrent medicines. I have insurance but the co pays are so high for me. I dont go to doctor when i need to cause of the co pays. I have looked and tried to find help with medicine and help with paying some hospital bills. But I cant find any. I am also vey sick. I have hospital bills because the doctors dont know what is wrong with me and this is frustrating. so I get sick and have to go to the hospital for them to tell me you are sick but we dont know what it is.

There is another 5000 dollar bill. It is crazy. Sometimes I feel like I am at the end of my rope. But I realize that I could be worse off. I have a roof over my head and clothes on my back I thank god for that.

I dont know where to turn or who to talk to. I need help Do anyone know where or who I can turn to? It is a lot more to this but I dont want to pry. I just need some advice anyone…

Wow, i really felt like this is a story that touched me somewhere, knowing that your a parent and in this situation is bad enough, but not taking care of yourself, made it all the worse.

I dont know what state you live in so i dont know what kind of finacial or medical help that the state offers. If your not already, then go to the state department and get information on food stamps, and anything else that you need help with. I myself don’t have alot of answers and tips for you, mostly because like i said i dont know what state your in and what all they offer.

But im going to repost this message, and see if i can find anything that might be helpful to you

Thanks for your reply. I have looked into my state for help and I make to much money above the poverty line by a grand or so. About nine years ago I received help from my state and they were pushing to get off of welfare and I did. I was only on for a year and one month. they just sut me loose. Which is ok. But I dont understandI looked and and looked and I just dug myself into a hole. I dont want to blame anyone. I am blaming myself cause I knew bettwer but when your child needs food and milk and diapers. What do you do? You pay rent and try to stretch the rest of the money over for bills. You have nothing so I opened up credit cards and used them for diapers and milk. I just want some advice on how to clean up my debt and how to get help for some medications.I am not 65 so I cant get my diabetic supplies for free. I have looked and there is nothing or maybe I an not looking in the right area….

I’m so sorry to hear that you tried a debt solutions company and ended up $3,000 poorer and with nothing to show for it. Still, if you are being harrassed by bill collectors it might be worth trying to find a reputable credit counseling agency. A good agency can help keep you from being harrassed and help clean up your debt load. Of course the problem is finding a good agency. I tried to make some recommendations on how to do this in another post. Here’s a link. I hope it helps:
