So, I am now officially homeless.
I slept on a boxspring last night. Ouch. I still have my car and my job. It’s very scary, but also exciting. I feel very free.

Why did you sleep on a boxspring??? What happened to your house?
I slept on a boxspring in a friends house because there is no mattress. I was kicked out of the home I was living in due to a conflict with the home owner.
Life is the greatest adventure. I pray you learn the lessons this part has in store for you. You are about to learn the greatest lessons you’ll ever know.
Bright blessings~
Richard
Ohhh at least you’re in a house… I’m sure you can find aother place to live? :)
You’re young so you’ll be okay. keep in mind, though: It starts as an adventure, but if you let it last long enough, it can seriously damage your self-esteem and make you think subconsciously that it is okay to live like that the rest of your life if it. Just don’t let it go on for too long. Just keep that in mind.
It’s my understanding Buddha lived under a tree for 6 years. Jesus lived in the desert for over a month. All of the greatest masters have been homeless at least once. I think clarity of mind is more important than time… perspective, use it or loose it.
I would have to say you are right, Richard. One just has to have the self-awareness to know when the time for a spirtual displacement from reality must end and when is the time to get out from under the tree or out of the desert. In the Bible, it clearly says that Jesus was tempted to stay in the desert and have all his wishes come true, but the test for him was to leave. That’s all Im sayin
Excellent point UCreate… I have to agree with you.
I use to love hitchicking across the country. Anytime I needed my faith restored in humanity I would put out my thumb and nice people would pick me up, give me money, feed me, wash me, etc.
I have lived out of my car from time to time. It sucks, but there is definately something transcendant about not having immobile dwelling.
You probably have friends to help you out with showers and stuff, but if not try truck stops, gyms, camping/public showers, beaches have showers usually. I’ve even showered on roadsides where waterfalls plummetted off into the Columbia River.
Enjoy your new found freedom. You will probably save some money not paying rent too! And when you get tired and strung out from the road. You can always open up the classifieds and look for someone who needs a roomate ~cheers~.

being homeless does not mean you don’t have access to librarys.
or that you don’t take your computer with you. He’s staying at a friend’s place, too.
I can’t imagine anyone liking to be homeless. Remember that fall and winter is coming. I use to be a case manager and I am very well versed in entitlements. So please let me know if you need help.
Be safe!

I’m happy for you, Sath.
Wow Richard you are truely amazing your out look on life is something to aspire to! sath I pray that everything will work out for the good! Be safe these are indeed trying times, most people are a pay check away from being homeless this i including myself it isnt a good feeling its one of many things that keep most people up at night(oddly not me I have so many other things that do!) all it takes is one thing to go wrong and poof you are homeless Ive been there sleeping in my car before I had my kids I know what it is like to be hungry and have no place to go to have no options! that was the worst month 1/2 every but it happened to me for a reason Im so very humble because if it! I no longer just walk past people in need like they’re not there! not as quick to say no I dont have any change, not wasteful or take things for granted like im supose to have it easy. Be blessed my friend
I’ve been there and yes, it can be exciting! I just hope that you have friends or family just in case!
Thank you all. For the record, Lena, I am actually male.
oh oh, I know this song. I have lived this///and what did I learn?
that truley, what does not kill us makes us stronger, and we NEED so much less than we want, and if it does not result in your immediate death, call it an adventure.
if you have never been thru this, I must say that for you, and your unique mind, this will be a wonderfull thing. You need this diploma to move on to the next level of learning too, so good for you..but, as in all things, moderation is the key..go too far down this path, and the periles outweigh the rewards.
good luck, stay safe, and , as always, learn.
Life is an adventure remember to make it a safe one and there are always people who love you and want to help.
I just recently became homeless, its very scary, especially to see everything you have worked for just fall apart…. but you are very right when you say it is very freeing, it`s like you have a fresh slate almost..
Well don’t worry about it
(you don’t seem worried)
but still don’t worry.

Ah, so good to no longer be homeless. Also, even better to no longer use drugs.
uh, yea. I would say that’s a major triumph! I didn’t know you were using before.
Congratulations, and if you ever need help if you use again or need to talk to someone, please let us know.
Hang in there . I hope things work out for you
Remember that Christ is your Stronghold and he will help you through anything. He is your Rock and your SALVATION you shall not be moved!! Psalm 62:2
