Jeans and a polo? I don’t know what the styles are there…

Wear what you are comfortable in, first and foremost.

Don’t try to “impress” your classmates with your appearance. You are there to learn.

Wear comfortable shoes - especially if your campus is large and you must do a lot of walking. I love the beginning of the fall semesters when I get to see all the freshmen ladies attempting to walk all day long throughout our campus in high heels (the skinny spiky high heels). The eventually switch to flats, but it might take a couple of weeks.

Take a jacket to your classes. Sometimes the AC seems to be on freezer mode in some buildings. You might be miserable 20 minutes into class. Also keep in mind that some classes are too hot. Don’t bundle up really warm only to find yourself sweating 20 minutes into class.

Oh, and let me add…

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to “impress” in some ways. If you prefer to look more put together than jeans and a t-shirt (which is fine at most schools) you can still “dress up” to a certain degree. But “dressing up” for a class room environment is completely different from “dressing up” for meeting friends later for drinks. Try to keep in mind that you are at school. Keep a sense of professionalism if you do decide to “dress up”. You might look hot in a short skirt and blouse cut really low, but is that really how you want to present yourself in a class room environment?

Some people don’t have a problem with that, but it’s up to you.

You already said you are in a program that is pretty much dominated by men. So maybe the best course of action isn’t to “flaunt what ya got” during class. Impress those boys with your intelligence. Then when you go out together, show them you can be “hot” too. (If that makes any sense.)

:)
