Here goes my boyfriends sister in law was having an

affair with her husbands (my boyfriends brother) friend they has recently split after a number of rows but you see thing is I knew about the affair all along but I also knew my boyfriends brother was cheating too….so I just kept my mouth shut both ways. Just now my boyfriend called me and told me about the affait and i confided my boyfriend and told him that I had known about it all along and apologised for not telling him. But he got a bit angry and accused me of backstabbing his brother(as i am good friends with him) I didnt want any of this to happen I just didnt want to hurt anyones feelings and keep the peace. My boyfriend thinks im a lier coz i didnt say anything what do I do????

Hold you ground! The reason you didn’t say anything is because you didn’t want to inflame the situation and had to think to make your next move. I agree with how you handled the situation with the exception of one part.

You should never ever keep information like that away from your lover! Now he thinks you don’t trust him, so you had better tell him your sorry and it won’t happen again ~smiles~. Tell him you were afraid he’d do something rash, and you were frozen with not knowing how to handle the situation in any aspect.

The best thing you can do is tell him you were wrong and you have learned from it, and you promise to share any future information that is directly related to him and his family ~smiles~.

Explain what dillemma you were facing and why you decided not to tell him. Tell him you didn’t want to hurt him. He’ll have to understand. He’s probably mad/worried because if his brother and sister in law have so many secrets he didn’t know about, he is no longer sure that you and he don’t have secrets as well. His trust in relationships has been hurt. You’ll have to tell him you didn’t agree with them having affairs, you just didn’t think it was your business to interfere. Tell him you’d never do such a thing and if somehow it would ever happen, you’d tell him the truth. It’ll take a while for his mistrust to settle though, as it is very difficult to seperate feelings about one situation close to your heart the break-up)from another thing close to you heart (your relationship together).

Tell him the truth, tell him every thing…and tell him that you did not want to hurt him, you just did not want to be the one to accuse anyone…Tell him you are sorry about the whole mess, but it was not something you thought you should get into…Tell him that if something like this, that has nothing to do with your relationship ruines you both…maybe you should not stay together…or just give him some time…maybe he just needs time to get over the situation.
