What state do you live in?? I got my first job at fourteen with a workers permit… It paid only 5.15 an hour but that was four years ago its gone up like 2 bucks since. Also that is alot of money for a 14 year old to start off with….

I live in Illinois, I can get a working permit but there are so many child labor laws I’m not sure if anyone will want to hire me until I’m sixteen.

Oh yah, those **** child labor laws, What are like there? I remember my job was at a golden corral buffett and i couldn’t work passed 9 and couldn’t touch knifes, handle money, work on the oven, or grill, hmmmm, basically anything. BUT if you just, kind of, not mention your age until after the interview or accidentally use a different year of birth then just fix it after the interview. it all relies on the interview, if you sell that then you basically have the job. AND all those **** rules are in effect at first, but eventially they forget about them. after like 1 month i was working late getting overtime, in the kitchen cutting the meats and cooking on the oven Making The Money!!!

Baby sitting, mowing lawns, walking dogs are all good things that are easy to get into. My brother used to make a lot of money when he was young as a soccer referee and linesman. You will have to be in *very* good physical shape and know the game very well to pass the exam, but the pay is good and there are no age restrictions.

Illinois is in the corn belt. Some farms still hire de-tasselers during the summer, and traditionally they hire younger people.

Many places will still hire you if you are 14, but they may be required to give you limited hours. It never hurts to apply… the worst thing they can say is “no”, which is no worse off than not asking at all.
