alright my name is will (obviously)..I’m 18.

I’m having trouble wanting to quit marijuana. Its not as easy as it seems. When I try to quit I just get depressed and empty, and when I smoke im calm and narrow minded and at ease. But its becoming a revolving circle because I want to quit but I just dont think I can do it on my own. I’ve lost my parents trust and everything they used to provide me with. Im on my own in this world and im not looking for sympathy from anyone. What I’m really looking for is companionship but I think my self esteem might be a little to low right now. Any advice will be great right now.

I use to smoke weed. I know where you’re coming from about it I would really wanna smoke again to make my depression go away. But it just doesn’t work that way. Why exactly have you decided to quit?

What you have is a psychological dependancy. A habit, basically. In order to kick this habit, you need to find something else to replace it. It’s that easy.

I’ve decided to quit because a lot of jobs are cutting down on it..thats not even the reason..the real reason is because I’m just spiraling down. I wish i could replace the habit.. I mean i know i can. I’m just not having a lot going on in my life right now to motivate me to stop..but i want to stop because i know if i try to quit now i’ll have a better life in the long run

Ok but the thing you need to understand is that you need to quit not replace your dependency. Who do you get weed from a friend or some dealer?

Just stop going to your dealers. Hell, if you have the kind of dealers I had, you could tell them you were quitting, and they would refuse to sell you anymore. Just make up your mind to stop, and stop. No one is in control of you but you.

What I’ve done to quit was change my attitude to it, I started at 13 too and I’m 21 now. Ask yourself why you want it? For all the effort you’ve put in over the years, all the nights sitting round waiting to get it, all the money you’ve spent, all the trouble it’s caused you, Why in the hell would you want that? You have put so much into it and what does it give you back? Squat! That’s what, unless you count the high, but in all fairness riding down you’re stairs naked on a baking tray gives you a better high.

Hm. I must be weird, then. I quit smoking cold turkey after smoking extremely heavy ammounts for a VERY long, stady period of time. It wasn’t easy, but it wasn’t all that hard, either.

Yeah, it’s not that hard really, infact sobering up after being stoned for so long is an interesting experience, I enjoyed it!
