Ok so here it goes, i need computer help .My pc is causing me a lot of problems .

I got a virus on it a while ago and sent it for repair. I got it back and everything got worse. Now my pc isnt reading any usb devices , so thats the first problem. I tried to download the latest msn cause my old msn kept saying that i have to install the latest version. I tried to , but everytime i click download msn on the web page after a while my computer restarts :S . .. I managed to get the latest msn , it signs in and all but whenever some1 talks to me or i try to send some1 a msg i get a pop up that says * you can’t open a conversation with . .*

so i guess i probably need a new computer , but until then if anyone can help me with the usb devices and the msn problem , that would be highly appreciated :)

you most likely do not need a new comp, the fact the you can access the internet shows that your comp is not useless

you mention that your comp may have or had a virus, go to this website and download the free virus scan software, it is a very good program and it is absolutely free

http://free.grisoft.com/doc/downloads…

also dl spybot, it is capable of finding some things that virus scanners often miss

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mi…

i hope these programs help you and you can get your comp running “normally” again

the last option before throwing your comp out the door lol is to reformat your hard druve and reinstall windows, if you purchased your comp from a store they usually provide a cd for this purpose, dell has you contact them or sumthing, one reason why i dont like them. good luck

ive never had the greatest confidence in norton, i prefer mcafee, ive had a better track record with their anti-virus, but ive had the best with AVG

don’t panic, its only a machine, all right a moody one at that. first did you get rid of the virus ? then reinstall the programs that are giving you problems. a good virus is for me anyway(avg) worked wonders so far, and does not take over your whole system, like some others I know.

system restore does not help now, first you must reboot from a clean boot disk or cd. then you must run a good virus program.then if you can get into you system you can TRY system restore.

USB devices have been a problem for a long time. Generally the advise given is connect your device, load any software that came with the device. Then go to Your CONTROL PANEL, SYSTEM, HARDWARE, DEVICE MANAGER, Universal Serial Buss Controllers and remove all entries Relating to USB and then reboot. The entries you removed will automatically be restored along with your new device.

Good Luck Ron

http://www.zonealarm.com/ — Firewall

http://www.grisoft.com/ — Anti-virus

SpyBot is good too, free, adaware.

The thing common here is that they are all very good, best thing they are free for an individual, non-corperate user.
