Ok so here it goes, i need computer help .My pc is causing me a lot of problems .
I got a virus on it a while ago and sent it for repair. I got it back and everything got worse. Now my pc isnt reading any usb devices , so thats the first problem. I tried to download the latest msn cause my old msn kept saying that i have to install the latest version. I tried to , but everytime i click download msn on the web page after a while my computer restarts :S . .. I managed to get the latest msn , it signs in and all but whenever some1 talks to me or i try to send some1 a msg i get a pop up that says * you can’t open a conversation with . .*
so i guess i probably need a new computer , but until then if anyone can help me with the usb devices and the msn problem , that would be highly appreciated :)

Where were you?
You can also watch events on Help.com as they happen
ok go to system tools then go to system restore and put it back to the last time it was working good
you most likely do not need a new comp, the fact the you can access the internet shows that your comp is not useless
you mention that your comp may have or had a virus, go to this website and download the free virus scan software, it is a very good program and it is absolutely free
http://free.grisoft.com/doc/downloads…
also dl spybot, it is capable of finding some things that virus scanners often miss
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mi…
i hope these programs help you and you can get your comp running “normally” again
the last option before throwing your comp out the door lol is to reformat your hard druve and reinstall windows, if you purchased your comp from a store they usually provide a cd for this purpose, dell has you contact them or sumthing, one reason why i dont like them. good luck
Norton anti virus
ive never had the greatest confidence in norton, i prefer mcafee, ive had a better track record with their anti-virus, but ive had the best with AVG
don’t panic, its only a machine, all right a moody one at that. first did you get rid of the virus ? then reinstall the programs that are giving you problems. a good virus is for me anyway(avg) worked wonders so far, and does not take over your whole system, like some others I know.
o ok still try that system restore thing to see if it will work for your problem
system restore does not help now, first you must reboot from a clean boot disk or cd. then you must run a good virus program.then if you can get into you system you can TRY system restore.
make sure u clean disk in safe mode or it does nothing
as i have said before a good virus program the good old AVG get it at http://free.grisoft.com/doc/downloads…
well i have mecafee .. but when my pc crashed i wanted all my info on it so i told the computer guy not to format it for me . . but i think the virus is still there , though mecafee didnt spot it :S . ..the virus is something like a folder opens in a folder ex .in my music another folder is called my music when i click it the documents opened . . its messed up lol
well thank you guys very very much i really appreciate it ,i’ll try to put another anti virus maybe that should work . . ( thank u for the links johnny :) )
but the usb devices how come my pc cant read any of them :S
or yellow block there is where you’ll find your problemo. probably you will have to install the device drivers all over again.
ill tell my brother to do that :D ( hehe )
Well old fart ill check that 2morow , but its getting late and i have to wake up at 7 in the morning for school , . .. so im signing off , ill be back 2morow night if you could help me ..
thanks again everybody ( nighty :) )
Install the latest USB drivers from the manufacturer’s website. From http://fixit.in
USB devices have been a problem for a long time. Generally the advise given is connect your device, load any software that came with the device. Then go to Your CONTROL PANEL, SYSTEM, HARDWARE, DEVICE MANAGER, Universal Serial Buss Controllers and remove all entries Relating to USB and then reboot. The entries you removed will automatically be restored along with your new device.
Good Luck Ron

SpyBot is good too, free, adaware.
The thing common here is that they are all very good, best thing they are free for an individual, non-corperate user.
thank u so much ! . .ill try and do what i can and see if that works , if not … then i’ll be back :D hehe
