Spanish Help…

I am really struggling with which verb to use when it comes to Ser and Estar. They are soo confusing, and I keep getting them switched up. Can anyone help clarify? I have my second exam tomorrow, and this is one of my areas of struggle. Thanks:)

estar is used for location or temporary situations. ser is used when describing yourself with adjectives that arent temporary. I should be able to explain it better since im in honors spanish, but Im not the best teacher

So if I am saying Madrid is the capitol of Spain would I say, Madrid estan la capital de Espaina…lol ok so I dont actually know how to say that, but would it be ser? Because my book says, Ser is origens, and estar is locations, and I get them confused…I mean I know ser is for like telling where someone is from…right? I dont know lol. Thanks for your help!:)Your a great teacher:)

Madrid estan la capital estan de Espana is right. Ser would be if you were saying Lifesadance es un espana.
