Debussy, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Vaughan Williams are very sentimental sounding…

http://help.com/post/95513-i-love-the…
Debussy’s “Clair de Lune” was my grandparent’s favorite romantic piece.

Ravel’s “Bolero” reminds me of a snake charmer…

Satie’s GymnopĂ©die No. 1 is also soft and quite nice…

Speaking of soundtracks …check out John Berry’s “Out of Africa” soundtrack (beautiful!)…

Original on YouTube.com

“Malena” (beautiful, tragic movie with a nice soundtrack by Italian composer, Ennio Morricone )

Original on YouTube.com

“Cinema Paradiso” (Ennio Morricone again …another beautiful piece, which I haven’t heard with lyrics before this …but it somehow makes me cry.)

Original on YouTube.com

James Horner also has some nice pieces “A Beautfiul MInd” soundtrack and “Diego’s Goodbye” from “Mask of Zorro”

Heather: Given It also mentions Sarah Brightman - she does Phantom of the Opera. Reminds me of driving across the south west England countryside since my friends had it on in the car the time I was visiting.

“All I Ask of You” with Cliff Richard

Original on YouTube.com

Brightman has a wonderful duet with Andre Bocelli “Time to Say Goodbye”

“Stranger in Paradise”

Yes… Sarah Brightman is fantastic!!! :) Everytime I hear her music I think of that time I was traveling in Devonshire.

I also like the soundtrack to Danny Elfman’s “Edward Scissorhands” soundtrack… more of a Christmasy, fairytale music box, mystery type of feel to it. I like to listen to it starting in the fall up until Christmas. Something magical about it :) …

De Senneville’s “Ballade pour Adeline” is also quite pretty. Someone I used to be crazy about liked this piece. I sometimes drive along the coast to this restaurant where I can watch the sunset from the lounge overlooking the ocean. Sometimes I will take friends if they are feeling blue or I used to take my grandma since she loved the scenery. I can sit there, relax with a glass of chardonnay and pretend I don’t have a care in the world. The added bonus is there is an excellent piano player who is often there an plays this among other pieces I like…
