Well the best thing that you can do is be there for them. Listen to what they have to say and sometimes just a shoulder to cry on.
Yeah, I know, Anon. Helpbot does that with almost every post that says “die”, “death”, “passed away”, “life”, or any other things that have to do with life! Silly robot.
Anyways, tell them that you didn’t know the girls that well, but are sad for their friends’ loss and will be there for them. Do exactly that.
Yes that is right. Just be there that means alot.
i don’t know their friends, but they were crying in a group today. one of the friends was in my math class and i gave her a sad smile and my jacket because she was cold. i’ll tell that girl what you guys said. it’s just so crazy that life can be gone like that. they were only 14 and 15.
there was a pair of young sisters who were tragically killed in a freak accident recently and this poem was passed out at the funeral. i think it brought a lot of comfort to many:
“You can shed tears that they are gone,
or you can smile because they have lived.
You can close your eyes and pray that they will come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all they have left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see them;
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember them and only that they are gone,
or you can cherish their memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind,
be empty and turn your back,
or you can do what they would want:
smile,
open your eyes,
love
And go on.
And on.”
Let this tragedy remind you that life is short, so live each day as if it is your last. I’m sorry to hear about the young lives being taken.
You could try befriending them and do something to keep their mind off it like go out for pizza or something!
That is so nice Shadylane, Thank you for sharing it with us:)
thank you so much for the poem, shadylane. it really is true. i’ve printed out a copy, ill give it to someone tomorrow. silverwings- they won’t tell us what happened. they keep telling us to not spread rumors, but i think they should tell us the truth. it’s natural to try to figure out what happened. their bodies were found in an irrigation ditch two miles and four hours apart. i’ve heard it was a murder set up to look like a drowning, or a real drowning. the irrigation ditch is five feet deep, but lined with rocks and cement.
I am sorry for your loss!
Anonymous, As it is important to morn the death of others, it is also very important to celerate their lives! They are not dead, they live on in our hearts. They have gone home. Home to the vibration of peace and unconditional love. They are with you always. They are always there to watch over you and guide you.
In light love and peace, Robert
np - happy to oblige.
i think the reason ‘they’ won’t tell you what happened is b/c it sounds like they’re still investigating. if it’s a suspicious death- they don’t want witnesses talking to one and contaminating each other’s evidence before they get a chance to talk to e/one. it sounds like they might still be trying to figure it out themselves. you’ll find out eventually.
the passing of anyone, especially anyone young and vibrant, is always a tragedy. it’ll take time before the sadness lifts. in the meantime, focus on being their for one another and the girls’ families.
my condolences go out to you, your friends, and their families.
be there for them– but don’t say you’re sorry. you didn’t do it. saying sorry is the wrong thing to say. when my mom died, i became angry towards people who said “i’m so sorry.” it’s an awkward saying for the wrong situation. just let them know that you’re there and willing to be a shoulder to cry on.
be their friend thats what they need right now and do not in any way shape or form try to take advantage of them cause during this a lot people try be their friend thats what they need right now
