When you say ‘why won’t google work on my computer’. What exactly do you mean? Dose it come back URL not found? Are you using a firewall program? Are any other websites not working? What kind of browser are you using? Have you tried another browser? Is this computer your home computer?

People asking for Computer help please read.

To be able to help you we need to have more detail than “there was an error and now the computer does not start”

with that information there is no way that we can help.
here is a list of information that if you send along then we can help better.
-what operating system(what windows ie: xp, vista, 98, etc.)
-desktop or laptop.
-any error messages exactly as they were displayed.
-any odd noises, or smells that have ocoured since the problem.
-let us know if you have installed any new hardware or software since the problem.

By posting this information the first time round we don’t have to ask and can resolve the issue faster.

Hi,
I am having the same problem. I am using windows vista on a laptop. It comes up extremely slow, which is abnormal for my computer, and eventually comes up as URL not found. I have done virus scans (all came up negative) and haven’t installed any new programs.

Same problem - same questions, Are you using a firewall program? Are any other websites not working? What kind of browser are you using? Have you tried another browser? Is this computer your home computer? Are you wired or wireless? How did you setup/create your internet connection?

I am having the same problem.

-This is my home computer.
-I am using Internet Explorer 7.
-There is only a problem with google.com and gmail.com (for example www.google.ie works just fine, as does www.maps.google)
-Google.com works on other browsers (it works just fine in AOL, and it even works in Internet Explorer when viewed through a proxy site)
-I am running Windows XP

I wonder if that person is getting the same problem I am having. Typing in the URL for google brings up a long loading screen and a timed out message. A few sites are interacting normally but I did also notice a 502 error on Mahalo, not sure if it is related.

You may have a virus that hijacks your DNS server and redirects it to some where else…

It might be your router. I have the same problem with my laptop running Vista. I can’t get on to google. It’s the only site I’ve tried I can’t get on. When I take my laptop to work however, google works - therefore, not my computer! I called my internet provider and told them the problem and they shifted it to the router company and said my firmware was possibly out of date - it’s a brand new router though, but who knows how long it’s been on the shelf for.

All other search engines and web sites come up quickly and without issue. But Google.com comes up slow with IE and Firefox. The only thing that has changed is that I recently added a magic jack, and corel photoshop to my computer. My daughter on her profile changed her default web page to tattoodle. Not sure if any of this is the cause but it is the only thing that has changed. I have run CCleaner and my anti-virus and they have come up clean. Anyone have any ideas?

When I search on google, the page just blinks and does nothing. Could this be damage from a virus?

Is google reading this? it seems there are lots of people with the same problem (myself included) and no answers from anyone!! As it just seems to be Google why are they not the ones chasing a solution?

I am using a samsung laptop, windows 7 starter, IE 9, firefox 6.0.2, wireless connection through my mobile phone, no error messages just sits there looking like it is trying to load but never succeeding. I am using norton identity safe whilst browsing could that have an effect?
