Every comment on help.com should be thoughtful and professional
as possible. This is a great site IF people give thoughtful answers and comments to their fellowman.
In this life, NEVER take another human being for granted. Every person deserves our respect and love. Each day, you have the opportunity to make this A BETTER WORLD OR NOT…..It should be an easy decision.
Have a great day and remember, the person that you mistreat could be an angel….

Queen, we all are….that is why I added, if possible…but, it is a great goal….
Thank you Soulsearcher….you have to be a sincere person with that name…take care and have a great day..
Thanks Lil…you are a VERY good human being….we all know that..
definitely a great goal!
Have a great day Queen…
Bye everyone…got to run…
Thinks Qzzz… think we all need that reminder from time to time. I think they should post it on the homepage.
I understand and underwrite the sentiment of your post. But I think we shouldn’t press the point too much, or we’d risk losing the input of those that don’t have enough self esteem to believe that they are thoughtfull and professional enough. I’d say it’s the attention that’s the most important, not the expertise or thought expertise.
Oh, great comment Pseudoniem……no one has all the answer my friend….but, we try…
no matter how simple an advice is, it does not matter as long as it is from the heart; respect to the poster and to other users is prioritized. we do not have to agree with everything others say, but being conscious of what we write would help others more…and you never know might save someone’s life today. :)
I agree with you Qzzz, all responses SHOULD be professional and respectful, but I have learned something unique about this site. This site is open to everyone, and everyone has faults. If I want professional help, I go to a shrink. If I want help from everyone, I come here, accepting that the people resonding are just like me. That really means a lot to me and uplifts me. Just an opinion.
I am new to Help.com but have tried to be considered, non-judgemental and professional in the responses that I have given to others - so I wholeheartedly support Qzzz in his quest to get every contributor to sit up and take notice….
Every comment? What about some of the dumbarse questions we get on here?
I’m not a professional does that mean I should give up?
And I find you use of ‘Fellowman’ offensive, could you not find something more gender neutral.
Yeah you are right! But there are people who instead of helping make fun of the help seekers.
Some people ask for it Murian.
Hi btw, not seen you before, Dubai eh? I used to live in Muscat, the weather cooled down yet? I love those 25 degree autumn days. Oh do you ever make it out to the desert? I miss the desert. : (
Qzzzz I’m not a professional, cross-dressing, hormone-raging, 40 something teenager, but I play one on TV. I agree with what you stated for the most part anyway. I like to see the humorous side of most things (and can usually find one) so my first replies may seem slightly off-base. Some people are put off by some of my responses. That’s fine by me. Everyone’s entitled to have an opinion.
Mine!
lol
Happy poets day, everyone!
OMG why can’t people be like they want to be.

Amen. Sometimes I can’t offer anything too amazing in the way of advice and I’m left with just responding with a hug or something. And sometimes we just get horribly inappropriate questions on here.
I agree with you QZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzZZZZZ, but a little humor and a little bite is just healthy no? sometimes depending on the situation one or the other is requried…. i.e. the guy (da..) saying he/she thought every young boy should have a vesectomy to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Now I replied as thoughtful as I could but that question boarder lined on rediculos and ignorant…
I agree and dissagree, just to be difficult :)
I agree that we should all br thoughtfull in what we say and do, rather than saying something knowing it would upset or cause an argument, but I dissagree with the proffesional bit, as we are not proffesionals we are all here because at one time or another we needed help of some kind and the advice we can give is only based on what we think and sometimes its not always right but we at least try
I agree fairly much. Above all we shall respect eachother. But I think dsteedma is right, you must also allow some ranting and humorous stuff. The site would otherwise be too clinical. But pseudo has an important point and so does skippy, indeed. Do you remember the clip from a Crocidile Dundee movie, where he commented on the New Yorkers’ need for shrinks: “Don’t they have friends?” That clip has a lot of merits!
We are not perfect, but we do want to help. And seeing that, is a help by itself.
I also agree with Murian.
Making fun of help seekers really sucks! One may disagree on opinions, and some people write things that can’t pass without further comments, especially if the comments are hostile or evil. But that is not the same thing.
Oldfart, I’m not sure this is the place for shock treatments. I think that needs more professional knowledge to be made safely, because you can’t monitor the outcome through this site.
OK, I was thinking like shaking somebody mentally, to get him/her out of the shell and realize reality, or stuff of the alike. Terapeuts may do it every now and then, but I wouldn’t dare to, especially not through internet.
Thanks Qzzz - would be nice if people could be a little bit more kind towards others. ~Squidges~
…and there should be a policeman on every corner…
Dan sed:
…and there should be a policeman on every corner…
I thought there was Dan, the secret police! Or in my country CCTV.
hey Q you have read some of my thoughtson help what do you think. i do try to come at things with thought and from a bibmical prospective but sometimes i do not know let me know rob:-)
It’s a pity, the police stuff. We often see them as a threat, not without reasons. I guess they would want to have the image of being helpers and a support, for the people who pay their salaries. About like the old-time English bobbies were pictured.
I wouldn’t mind seeing more of them if they managed to live up to that picture, but I have not seen that in any country. Of course there will be a lot of good officers too, but that image is still not present.
Green, the CCTV you mentioned, is that the hidden camera stuff? If so, I really see them as a threat. As with all such things they may be easy to defend by techichal reasons, but the temptation to use it for keeping track of people is probably too heavy to resist for some authorities. If not today, it will tomorrow.
It is already used for keeping track of vehicles in big cities, and with improved face recognition applications it will certainly be used for people as well.
Well, then you have to make it a political top priority matter, making it criminal to the punishment similar to spying on a country. It’s a matter of electing the party which can stop it.
A leader without scruples and who can watch people, can also foresee reactions. The one who can foresee reactions can steer people. The one who can steer people have stolen their freedom and can cause any damage, including a world war.
That makes this integrity matter more important than any Iraq crisis, unemployment figures or other political issues.
Screw off topic, we are the only ones talking anyway. CCTV is usually not hidden as they try and tell you it is a deterrent, as they can’t possibly have someone watching the screens the whole time but if you say you were mugged at a certain place and time they look up the tapes and try and get an image, so it doesn’t really stop you from getting attacked. Unfortunately because of high profile use of CCTV images in recent child abductions and in catching the men behind the follow up to the 7/7 bus and tube bombings the public are mainly in favour of them, “If you’ve nothing to hide, you’ve nothing to fear.” Shame, ID cards may go the same way with the government having convinced the public that it will make us safer when it is nothing but an expensive waste of time.
And as if that wasn’t bad enough they can track you by your mobile phone as well as use it as a mic to pick up what you are saying, even if you aren’t on the phone, and next thing will be the sat nav doubling up as trackers too. I hate it. Not quite 1984, bits of it though.
It’s also a filthy budget matter. Police is needed for ticketing, chasing economic crimes and other things that brings money into the public funds. Cameras are cheaper than salaries. The police has not preventing crime as top priority anylonger, just making as much money out of it as possible.
And you are so right, dictators in all countries have said that in all times: “If you have nothing to hide, you have nothing to fear”. Now we have laws against this in Sweden. Of course the secret police doesn’t care, because in all countries those organizations believe that they are above the law. Every time they are found breaking it, the matter is pushed under a carpet.
But it is a good start to have the laws. Even the speed cameras have to have a signboard, like “Speed cameras, 0-5 kms”.
I think that is good!
Do you really mean that it is suggested that everybody will have to carry an ID card?
Why don’t you try to bring it up for an international court? It seems like terrorism is the best thing ever happened to those power-hungry guys.
I would happily prefer the terrorists. They cause less damage to society.
I have been to UK some times, also early. I found it disgraceful to see that the Queen had issued passports all over the world to “her” conquered countries’ citizens, but did not recognize those passports when the citizens got in trouble in their respective countries and came to UK for protection.
What you now tell, makes UK a stinky country, limiting freedom beyond the limit! This is not a matter of executing a power, it is the matter of the POSSIBILITY to execute it. Compare that to the former East German restrictions for its citizens to go abroad. Was that freedom limited only to those who actually had planned to go abroad? No, the loss of freedom was for everybody! (Except the authority guys, of course). Stockholm already keeps automatic track on cars, defending it with invoicing need because of city tolls. Therefore I don’t put my foot in Stockholm if not absolutely required to, because it turned Stockholm into a stinky city. Also the tolls should be rebuilt into four meter concrete walls, and they shouldn’t be let out!
Awaiting that, any Stockholmer visiting another town should be required to pay an entrance fee. But only Stockholmers.
Hey, loved the responses….hey, this is what makes it a great site. So many different views on posting etc….And, believe me, SoCo, OldFart, and someone else mentioned humor…oh, I’m a great believer in humor…that what makes life bearable….
Everyone have a great day!
