[Help] i always hear it but never get it :S :S Updates to this post /post/120940-i-always-hear-it-but-never-get-it Thu, 26 Nov 2009 21:29:58 +0100 Reply from Anonymous /post/120940-i-always-hear-it-but-never-get-it#reply-3327081 some EMOs think that self harm is cool and purposely cut themselves to fit in with other people, its sad and pathetic.

this is mainly the ‘wannabe’ attention seeking types, but i know that this is a small minority of EMO’s.

Reply from Nensix /post/120940-i-always-hear-it-but-never-get-it#reply-3326810 Just to add, some bands that typify this style are My Chemical Romance, Jimmy Eat World, Coheed and Cambria, Fall Out Boy, The Used…. and many more.

A couple of links for more info:

Reply from Anas /post/120940-i-always-hear-it-but-never-get-it#reply-3326798 It’s a genre of softcore punk music that integrates unenthusiastic melodramatic 17 year olds who dont smile, high pitched overwrought lyrics and inaudible guitar rifts with tight wool sweaters, tighter jeans, itchy scarfs (even in the summer), ripped chucks with favorite bands signature, black square rimmed glasses, and ebony greasy unwashed hair that is required to cover at least 3/5 ths of the face at an angle.

It’s a lifestyle and has it’s roots in punk and subculture, just like goth, punk, hippy and all of these specific lifestyles are.
