[Help] What is the best way to transfer data from your old pc when you buy Updates to this post /post/138-what-is-the-best-way-to-transfer-da Mon, 09 Nov 2009 02:50:34 +0100 Reply from silhouette88 /post/138-what-is-the-best-way-to-transfer-da#reply-239084 I’ve had good luck with one of these IDE -> USB adapters: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product…

The pros in using this is that you don’t have to open your case and physically install the old drive, and when you’re done you can stow it away and use it for another drive. I’ve seen really expensive ones out there ( $50+) but the $15 one I got did the job.

Reply from angrymacdadd /post/138-what-is-the-best-way-to-transfer-da#reply-1174 well if you plug the old hard drive in and boot using the windowsxp that is on your new xps drive ,then hopefully it wont infect your new pc ,just as long as you dont start any spyware apps off the old drive .then it isjust a case of draging and droping.
