Reply from ♥Miki♥ /post/142106-i-am-a-builder-in-adelaide-south-a#reply-3537963 Yeah, pretty much what Mezz said. Take it up with a small claims court, if it fits the criteria. Or/and you can ask for a consultation from the Magistrates court. They may advise you to file a documentation with a debt agency, which is probably the best thing to do since they are extremely efficient in getting the payments owed to you. (No one wants to go to jail. LOL)

Also, it may be advised that before you do this, speak to the client in person and warn them that if they do not pay you the money you owe them, you will be taking the matter further with the law. Keep papers and proof of employment, and anything else that can prove you worked for this person and did not recieve the monies owed to you. That way, they can not use it against you that you did not ask them personally to pay the money. It also may scare them enough to pay you back and you won’t have to go through the system.

I hope that’s helped a little, and I hope you’re coping with this hell-like heat we’re having. *melts*

Reply from Mezz /post/142106-i-am-a-builder-in-adelaide-south-a#reply-3537939 It depends on how big the amount oweing is. If its under a certain amount, you can file it with the small claims court for about $50. If you call into your local court house, they have a lot of leaflets explaining it. Other things i used to do when i was in business is register with a debt collection agency, and let them do the hard work. They only take a small percentage of the amount oweing, and its well worth it if you are finding it to be a regular occurance.
