Many teachers worry that they will not gain respect from students in a new school unless they are very strict to begin with. It may well change. I also think that if a lot of people are complaining, it may well change faster.

As for the revealing clothes and makeup - I absolutely agree. Again, if parents begin to complain, I’m sure that will change.

Just swallow your pride and take the detention, and then just try to follow all the rules. If she’s too strict and everyone is complaining, there are bound to be some changes soon.
