Reply from metalheart10832 /post/154657-im-a-little-scared#reply-3669355 Alcohol is not the solution. How often do you get to vent? Do you have an artistic outlet, like painting, writing, or drawing? Use your depression to make something beautiful. People oftentimes refuse to see the beauty in darkness. Truth be told, we’ve all been there, we all know what it feels like, it sucks, but we eventually have to move forward or we start to merely exist rather than live. As for the bourbon helping… sounds like its kinda all in your mind. You were expecting the alcohol to help you, therefore it did. Try that with something different. A cup of tea (chamomile is known for its relaxation abilities), a new activity, etc. Go in with the mindset that “this is going to help me get through this” and it usually will. And for the sake of yourself, VENT, it really does help. Depression is hard, alcohol and depression is harder. Don’t dig yourself a hole, build yourself a bridge.

Reply from private.one /post/154657-im-a-little-scared#reply-3668553 The relief is only temporary is where the problem is. Depression can be quite deliberating. You should talk to your doctor. Counselling and short term medication would be more proactive.
