Good luck

Reply from webjeff200 /post/157043-is-anyone-here-making-a-living-on-e#reply-3701115 You have to sell things which no else is selling which is hard. So start by selling thing aroung you house you no longer need.

Reply from jerseygirl /post/157043-is-anyone-here-making-a-living-on-e#reply-3699293 I’ve been an ebay powerseller for a little over 2 years. I was a nurse for 10 years and hurt my back. While home I decided to try the ebay thing and was practically computer illiterate at the time.I started with a “gucci” purse in my closet that I had since college and was afraid of an “auction” so sold it as “buy it now” for $249. It sold within 2 hours after being posted. Little did I know they were going for over $1000 because it was a classic! my mistake.never researched on ebay. Well after that I was hooked and started selling everything in my house I didn’t need. Even my clothes. Money became a little tight being out of work so I even sold some sentimental things I now regret! I wasn’t able to go back to work for 6 weeks so I had time on my hands. I started at gargage sales, flea markets and attended my first auction alone. It was scary. Everyone knew what they were doing there but me. I ******* even understand the auctioneer! I bought 4 pieces of “lladro” at this auction for $12 and sold them for over $300.Always research your item first before listing. It will be there for sure. You’ll be surprised no matter what is it. I became addicted and to make a long story short, never went back to work. I now sell childrens clothes who I buy from a distributor and resale on ebay. thats the only way to keep the income flowing. Eventually the other way I always ran out of stuff until I bought again and resold. (Tried selling for friends but that became old quick). the money was good but there was always lapses in income. I tried buying wholesale products from other ebay sellers but it wasn’t really wholesale. They sell retail and I became stuck with this crap unable to sell and lost money over and over. The only way to go and have a business on ebay is to find a knack with something you know about, find a distributor and open an ebay store. When I first opened my store I only had 14 items in it! How pathetic! But now I am successful and never regret it. Where else can u open a website for such little fees. I am currently starting a website of my own and they want $3000 just for the “log-in”page! Not to mention putting the site together! The only drawbacks is I constantly have headaches, backaches and gained 20 lbs from sitting on this dam computer all day. It is long hours and dosent run itself. You are constantly bombarded with questions from buyers, invoices, packaging etc. But I can also end my listings when I want and put my store on vacation so I can have much needed time. Always be honest in your listings and careful to disclose of any flaws. if there are any describe in detail. My feedback is now over 10,500 with 100% positive. My customers trust me. By the way my family members no longer buy me gifts because I put them right on ebay:) Good Luck in all that you do!! ps. If you know of anyone who does websites cheaper or knows of good business loans for my future site let me know. Thanks

Reply from babacup /post/157043-is-anyone-here-making-a-living-on-e#reply-3698734 I only know of one person who started her own ebay business. And I do not think it turn out to be successful. I do not know how much effort she put it to it though.

With the type of computer equipment you have you can do like my husband did. Besides doing his own internet radio shows, he found people who would pay him to record their shows for them. He would get $250.00 for a hour long show. In one case it took him about an hour to edit it because the person had a stutter. Pretty good for 2hrs of work.

Reply from sans-sans /post/157043-is-anyone-here-making-a-living-on-e#reply-3698720 Thanks for the replies. I’m not thinking of clearing out my closets for a one time sell, but using yard sales, mini-storage auctions and (hopefully) wholesalers and drop shippers to provide inventory.

I hear a recurring theme on here that people are looking for ways to make money from home, and not having much luck. With my career in the doldrums and the opportunity to build something new, I’m checking out whatever I can. I know at three people who have started selling a variety of things, mostly on Ebay, and are making more money than they did at their jobs.

Reply from Silverwings /post/157043-is-anyone-here-making-a-living-on-e#reply-3698705 I sold some sky miles, and they brought what I wanted for them. Met some nice people doing it too.

There are many on there that will coach you, if you post something and say this is my first time….. very helpful info.

Also, I found out to eliminate the no-pays…. the ones that get the bid, then, do not pay(which happens quiet a bit, I think) you can post that you only take bids from people with Paypal accts….. they are usually trustworthy.

I also was able to locate some items that I was wishing to buy, on there.

A friend makes dolls, and does very well on there with them.

You just have to find something that someone wants…. and have the prices right….

Start as a hobby and work up…..

Blessings….

I have the sega genesis, and about 40 games for it. My Dad has two ataris, and a lot of popular games for it. Would any of that be worth anything?

Reply from cattail /post/157043-is-anyone-here-making-a-living-on-e#reply-3695355 LOL… I wish!!! I’ve tried a few times here and there, but mostly not much luck!! :( … and I think my prices were reasonable… but there’s just so much stuff out there. It’s all a matter of being in the right place at the right time I guess! If you have something that’s really a popular item though, you could have very good luck… just look at the prices of the competition and be competitive! :) Sometimes the bidders get so caught up in things they really raise the price trying to outbid each other!!
