But all you can do is your best, that may not sound like the greatest advice but its true. I have 3 kids (grown up now) I always found that if you read the most important bits before u go to sleep for some reason it stays in your head. Also do u get multiple choice questions if so make sure you answer all of them even if you are only guessing. Chance says u will get some right. Go though the paper answer the questions u know, then go back over what u don’t. But like I said don’t leave any unanswered it is worth guessing. You say you are good at English so you will probably do fine on that anyway and just do your best on the math. Try not to panic as that can freeze your brain. As for cutting yourself have you had help with this in the past, if so go back and talk to whoever helped you. If not try and talk to someone do you have counselors at school, talk to them, they will understand and will help. Good luck with exams and please seek help for the cutting, I know it gives a release of tension but it is only temporary. It is not a long term solution.

Reply from redrose /post/157290-pls-help-im-in-year-12-and#reply-3698445 thank you for replying.

yea I agree that worrying can make you perform worse.
I had a maths sac last term which I’d studied for except i had a panic attack during it & so completely mucked it up. i ended up failing the test.

Sometimes I just can’t get my head around the stress/worry stuff.. I can’t control it sometimes. Getting a good score means so much to me ( and to my mum ) so sometimes the pressure just gets too much & I break down.
I don’t want it to happen again, but telling myself that it doesn’t matter doesn’t seem to help me.

geeze, i should just give up and run away.
I cant do this.

thanks for your help anyway

Reply from kyleschwent /post/157290-pls-help-im-in-year-12-and#reply-3698431 dont worry, life is not about test grades or A’s or B’s or C’s. Those mean nothing. If you quit worrying, it will all be ok. I did that for my math test last thursday, and it was the best test I had taken all year. That was because I didn’t care what happened, which allowed me to free my mind
