Well, if you’re unsure, you should go with s-video to scart. All TVs have a scart plug in the back, most even have 2. It looks like the one in the middle of this picture: You can see it has s-video and minijack on one end and scart on the other. It’s really easy to set up. You simply use the tv as a second monitor.

Do you have the manual from the TV or anything like that? If you bring that to the shop with you they’ll be able to tell you and give you the right cable to hook it up

depends on your tv…..does it have a vga or dvi input…..many do now…..also on the connections from your laptop.

Depending on your laptop and television you should be able to get a cable to connect the two, then you can watch anything your doing on your laptop on your tv. Go to any electronics shop and they should be able to give you more information. If you going to go bring your laptop and they will be able to tell you exactly what you need :)
