It was not the nobility of the conflict that was the problem, it was the management of the war that was the problem. But you always have to realize wars are many faceted, for every Noble cause there is a non-noble cause to war.

Some quick Noble causes.

To help the South Vietnamese resist the Communist movement from the north from talking over. The South Vietnamese did not want this to happen and did need help.
