[Help] I have to give a talk for an hour and a half! Updates to this post /post/159434-i-have-to-give-a-talk-for-an-hour-a Wed, 15 Oct 2008 21:07:10 +0100 Reply from SoulRising /post/159434-i-have-to-give-a-talk-for-an-hour-a#reply-3722363 arc = as in American Red Cross

I fill some of the time with film, slides, objects to be handled, questions…

How old is your audience and what level of knowledge can you assume they already have?

Reply from Anonymous /post/159434-i-have-to-give-a-talk-for-an-hour-a#reply-3722353 You could start building an arc just to be on the safe side!

Well, I am ok with the theory behind it all, just the idea of talking so long scares me! Also I am supposed to involve the audience, with “educational games” which is what I am a bit stuck on really. I think I’d just prefer to talk at them for the whole time!

I am thinking about some kind of debate or something.

Reply from SoulRising /post/159434-i-have-to-give-a-talk-for-an-hour-a#reply-3722341 Is that your scientific opinion:)? A while to you and a while to me might mean I should start building an ark?

So, I suppose you want more ideas, but you give me a while. OK, do you have a film, slides, endangered species list (ie polar bears…)? Pictures, plans, suggestions, theories…

Reply from SoulRising /post/159434-i-have-to-give-a-talk-for-an-hour-a#reply-3722330 I think a fish tank with frozen water melting throughout the whole presentation would be a good punctuation. An hour and a half, wow.

I like to squeeze a lemon in my water, it helps to keep my throat lubricated.
Will you be giving a presentation on a screen? Do you have something to pass around? What is the topic? How long do you have to prepare?
