It makes me feel sad. In the 80’s Goths were largely ignored but welcomed by both the punk and rock crowds, we could easily go into clubs/bars for either groups. I think we were more a curiosity than something for people to scorn on.

However stereotypes are easily made and hard to break, its the same reason that any minority gets abused by the majority.
Goths are seen as different, most people don’t fully understand why they choose to be they way they are. and so they lash out at them…
its horrible and wrong but its the way the human race has been for many hundreds of years and will continue to be for years to come.

Sad really… nothing we can do about it tho.

It is only the few good ones that can actually see the difference as a good thing. I was ridiculed and had things tossed at me in high school because I dyed my hair blue. All you can really do about stuff like that is remember who is the better person, the one who doesn’t attack people with differences no matter how small or large. One day I hope the world will find acceptance to thier own kind but until then you just try to do the best you can.

To be honest with you I don’t think the world will ever be fully accepting to a certain genre of people. However, I think the acceptance of Goths has actually come along way.
