[Help] I am in my early 20... Updates to this post /post/159454-i-am-in-my-early-20and-am-cu Sat, 11 Oct 2008 12:43:50 +0100 Reply from R[dot]B10 /post/159454-i-am-in-my-early-20and-am-cu#reply-3722506 you cannot give up you need to remember that your learning too so if you dont know something dont worry about it. Just keep up with your studies and do your best. Maybe do some extra studies like reading books or even talk to your teacher or lecturer about it and he/she can help you. Your probably not the only person in this situation, just the only one brave enough to ask.

Just remember that you didnt take that course for no reason and you’re there to learn.

xx

Reply from ben_j_richard /post/159454-i-am-in-my-early-20and-am-cu#reply-3722502 Most people feel they are falling behind or doing badly at times. There are day when all of us feel the stupid one in the room, But its not true. Im sure you have strengths in area others dont, Just keep strong and work at it. Are there books you can read most lecturers or teachers give time to see students and help you with the course, so seek them out. REmember you can do what ever you put your mind to, you just need the drive.

Dont be afraid to ask others around you, even if it makes you feel or look stupid. From my time as a student and teacher I know that most people have questions and problems they dont understand. just look at the example you gave of asking someone they didnt know either, but the difference is most people dont ask about them for fear of looking stupid….. They are not brave enough. Those that do ask may appear silly in the short term but in the end if your question gets answered then they have less things they dont understand and will do better, unlike those that dont ask and suffer. Trust me when i say for every thing you feel you dont understand in your course there is at least!! andother 2 or 3 people with the exact same problem.

Hope that helps :)

What subject are you studying by the way, as some people on here might be able to help :)

Reply from Lapadaki /post/159454-i-am-in-my-early-20and-am-cu#reply-3722471 At schools such as that, they usually have a tutoring service. Sometimes if you have the spare money, you can hire one, if the school doesn’t provide it. Usually the school does though.

I know what you may think though, that having a tutor means that you are stupid and blah blah blah. But no, that isn’t the case. That just shows how much you want this. people respect hard workers. And that hard work pays off, trust me.
