[Help] "No, it is NOT my period! Updates to this post /post/159677-no-it-is-not-my-period Thu, 21 Aug 2008 13:30:12 +0100 Reply from sunshinebaby /post/159677-no-it-is-not-my-period#reply-3751216 :) Thank you!

You know, I was watching American Idol towards the beginning of the season and I remember one of the contestants saying that he or she had to experience the art of everyone’s position at their job until they were allowed to settle into their own. Kind of finding a way to make everyone understand what everyone else did.

I think it would be nice for men to feel what we feel…just once. But then I guess I have to remember that we were all created differently for a purpose and all that.

But ugh, lol.

The best advice to anyone getting harrassed, by the way, take it calmly and don’t yell back. The more aggrivated you get, the more they think they’re right and the less validation they will give to what you’re saying.

OR bring on the tears. That has melted many a man. And I have used it shamelessly q couple times when I was growing up :)

Reply from Anonymous /post/159677-no-it-is-not-my-period#reply-3744817 Men are frustrated because they think talking and venting is a sign of weakness. For women, it is part of living.>

So completely true. Once you realise that they know and understand little or nothing about the need to express and the need to vent it, won’t affect you any longer!

The thing is, most men are not into listening to that. They forget that women’s venting is just a way to express themselves. Men are frustrated because they think talking and venting is a sign of weakness. For women, it is part of living.

So do not mind those she-get-this-once- a -month attitude. No matter how much we love them, they simply could not get it. haha!

I miss you Sunshine! *sobs.

Reply from sunshinebaby /post/159677-no-it-is-not-my-period#reply-3724666 I know! It’s so annoying. The men in my life are undoubtly the worse. I HATED (and still hate) when my brothers would start making comments about my horomones and ignore what it is I was telling them. I mean, I love them dearly and all, but sometimes I wish they COULD get their periods once in a while. (I still believe that men have PMS…but that’s a whole other story :)

Thanks Anhedonia91 - I appreciate you letting me vent. I’m thankful for this site. It probably helps keep me sane!

Reply from Tragically_Misled91 /post/159677-no-it-is-not-my-period#reply-3724652 When ever I get mad at my sister or mum they both just go, “Oh are you having your period?” and I’ll be like-”NO I AM NOT!!!” So I know exactly how you feel. It sucks to have your feelings chalked up to one thing every single time, need to rant about your frustrations to me? Because I’m all ears if you do. :)
