[Help] Can heat ruin iPods? Updates to this post /post/162817-can-heat-ruin-ipods Mon, 30 Nov 2009 05:07:11 +0100 Reply from Angelfish2fre /post/162817-can-heat-ruin-ipods#reply-5295637 Well today I was outside jogging with my iPod touch, and it was hot. The screen kept messing up and eventually it wouldn’t turn on. however, when I went inside, it was fine. I think heat could very well fry the iPod’s system.

Reply from Mrs. Hasta Pianoman /post/162817-can-heat-ruin-ipods#reply-3797729 yeah the battery was just dead. my computer was freaking out but I didn’t know it yet, so when I plugged my iPod in, the computer couldn’t recognize it. the battery was plenty full when I first plugged it in, but I think that the ipod was constantly trying to be recognized by the computer, so the battery was drained.
when I found out my computer was messed up, I went and plugged it in to my other computer, and it works jsut fine, now.

to Da-11:
yeah I tried that before I came here and asked for help cause similar things have happened before, but this was the first time that the ipod didn’t respond to ANYTHING I did. but it’s all good now, thanks for trying!

Reply from Da-11 /post/162817-can-heat-ruin-ipods#reply-3760990 Hold down the Select button (center of the wheel) and Menu button (top of the wheel) until the screen goes black. This will reset the iPod and hopefully bring it back to life.
