Reply from Anonymous /post/168307-how-to-create-backup-files-to-prese#reply-3822350 It depends on which operating system you have. Linux, Mac, I cannot help you with, maybe others that are familiar with those operating systems can help you. In Windows XP and Vista there is a utility that will allow you to per-determine what files you want backup. Some applications will allow you to backup important files. In fact you may not know it Microsoft Office will do an automatic backup at a predetermined time (like maybe once every 20 minutes or shorter, you determine the time interval). This is so if you had a crash, you might only be out minutes worth of typing. So I would look into the applications you are using to see if they have a backup type of system added to it.

Getting back to the Windows Operating System. On XP or Vista use the b>”HELP” /b> feature to find what you want, Your best bet is to do a b> i>search /i> /b> on b> i>SELETIVE BACKUP /i> /b>. That should be able to help you out with the full set of instructions and then print them out.

Reply from jimtc /post/168307-how-to-create-backup-files-to-prese#reply-3822317 If you want to backup regularly:
on a Mac — use Time Machine
on a Windows — their is an included backup tool…in the Accessories menu somewhere.. may be hard to use

on a Mac — select the files, right-click selection, choose “Compress …” or “Archive …”
on a Windows — maybe similar… use PowerArchiver — http://www.powerarchiver.com/download/
