[Help] Hi , I am planning to loose weight during the summer Updates to this post /post/171229-hi-i-am-planning-to-loose-weight Wed, 09 Dec 2009 09:48:05 +0100 Reply from KatrinaG /post/171229-hi-i-am-planning-to-loose-weight#reply-3859003 http://www.calorieking.com/ —> Calorie counter/nutritional checker (led by experts it looks like)

http://www.myfitnesspal.com/ –> another community, more centered on calorie counting

Not sure what you mean by “schedule to follow” do you mean customized exercise plans that is generated for you, or ones you can put together yourself through lists of exercises? (disclaimer: not trying to be your doctor here, lol) If so, I think they’re out there, and I can look if you like.

One thing though, that we need to determine– are you willing to pay extra for certain services/advice/benefits of a certain website? Because then we can examine, look at those options. I’ve been sticking to free, here, mostly.

Let me know!

Reply from KatrinaG /post/171229-hi-i-am-planning-to-loose-weight#reply-3858980 Heyy! Need to do lose weight too…That’s my goal this summer- and to just keep healthy! Two great sources I’ve found, one I prefer other not so much, but that was because, for me, one service the latter provided seemed unaccessible and it was the one I needed the most….But, depending on your need i>my /i> preference may not fit yours…

B> a href=”http://www.peertrainer.com>PeerTrainer /a> /b>:: I have an account here, this is a community for weight loss with tons of great tools and, I think, an active community. Its been featured before on the news as well…my peeve about this, however, is that while they claim to have a blog feature, which I really wanted for my support system…trying to use that blog feature was well frustrating. Couldnt find it easily in other words and I thought I needed to go to a different site. But: I do believe they have a calorie counter, exercise journal, meal journal, two types of mini-support groups, ability to upload pics and videos, and articles. Free, I think they have a level of paid membership, but not sure. In any case all the features you’d need, are provided free.

B> a href=”http://www.extrapounds.com>ExtraPounds /a> /b>:: This is my preference, this is a blog- based weight loss support community with a weight tracker, food tracker, exercise tracker, support groups, general nutritional info, and a great, active supportive community through their blogs which I like because they’re a BIG part of their features and its used more actively, I feel (maybe it is because of the particular groups I’m in though…maybe there are active groups out there!)…and, because they look good, it appeals to my young taste, lol.

PeerTrainer (peertrainer.com)may be more comprehensive than ExtraPounds (extrapounds.com), in my neutral opinion though.

And, hey, if you want a weight loss buddy, give me a shout out on my page!

Hope I helped!:)

Reply from centralcoastsingles /post/171229-hi-i-am-planning-to-loose-weight#reply-3858472 Healthy low fat snacks all day instead of big meals. If you eat all the time, your body thinks there is food around and won’t store as much fat/energy. If you wait a long time between meals and eat a lot, it will store everything it can until your next meal. By fooling your body into thinking there is food all the time, it will free up some of the stored fat as needed. That is when you exercise and move as much as you can. It can be tough on the joints, but if you can walk around the house a few times, then around the block, then around the neighborhood, you will increase your stamina, use up some of that released fat, and start to lose weight. You don’t need to worry about charts. If you want charts, sign up for Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers. You shouldn’t start a regimen without checking in with a doctor or couselor anyway. I suggest just adjusting your eating habits, walking then exercising, and buying a video eventually when you can move easier. Don’t push yourself or you can get injured. Don’t diet, or you will be caught in a cycle and get worse. Find healthy foods, fruits and veggies, but not too much for sugar content. You are probably at risk for diabetes also. Rice cakes or things like that can be good to snack, and they have some great flavors. Just stop at one. If you are still hungry, wait a few minutes and see how you do. It takes a while for something you eat to have an effect. If you eat slowly you will become satisfied. If you eat fast, you will keep eating past the point of satisfaction before you realize you have eaten enough. Take a bite, count, bite, count. Go slow. I hope some of those help. Otherwise, the only link I can give you is http://www.google.com

Reply from Yukonman /post/171229-hi-i-am-planning-to-loose-weight#reply-3858219 First off, as a Lab tech assistant for a nutritional company I have learned a lot about how to loss weight. the best diet out there is to eat as you get hungry and drink water a lot of water. A little known fact is that if you drink t least 16oz of water shortly after waking up you increase you metabolism by 24% for the next hour and a half. Eat breakfast I don’t know how many times i have hear this from my manager if you eat breakfast you will have about 1/4 of the fat on you stomach than other men she tells me( this also works for the ladies). so wake up have a nice big glass of water and get a bite to eat and go running you will be amazed at how you feel and how much weight you lose, but more so don’t diet because diets don’t work they are short term if you want to lose weight you have to make a life decision to eat healthier and exercise. Eat healthy foods and eat fresher foods and realize this wont happen over night and you cant just go cold turkey. good luck I am sure you will do great.

Reply from Anonymous /post/171229-hi-i-am-planning-to-loose-weight#reply-3858185 I used to be really fat too. Now I’m really thin. I’m not sure how I did it. One thing I didn’t do: spend much time at my computer.
