Reply from neku /post/171379-please-somebody-help-me-my-computer#reply-3960132 Run a scan. Norton, AVG , Avast are free antivirus software. Ad-aware, Spybot, Ewido are free spyware removers. You can download free softwares at http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html . You can also run a free registry scan using utilities from http://re7.info

Reply from viruspyware /post/171379-please-somebody-help-me-my-computer#reply-3869685 The virus protection programs dont always help…if the problem is really bad you can erase your hard drive (memory) and reinstall the operating system (windows XP…etc.) if you have the operating system CD.(most computers come with the CD for this reason.)

Reply from centralcoastsingles /post/171379-please-somebody-help-me-my-computer#reply-3863279 You say you cannot run windows but you are online. Does that mean you are on someone else’s computer right now? If you are having trouble getting the computer up, restart and press F8 until you get the option to run in Safe Mode. See if that lets you get into your windows to update and run anti virus programs. You can also go back to a restore point and maybe get to run your computer well enough to get rid of the virus and spyware and such.

Reply from The Clue /post/171379-please-somebody-help-me-my-computer#reply-3861959 If your PC seems like its slowing down or having a hard time surfing the web or just doesn’t seem right.
You should go to http://download.com and get these programs.
AD-Aware: http://www.download.com/3120-20_4.htm…
Spybot search and destroy: http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search…
CCleaner: http://www.download.com/CCleaner/3000…
and and if you dont have an Antivirus program you can use
Avast: http://www.download.com/Avast-Home-Ed…
or AVG: http://www.download.com/AVG-Anti-Viru…
and for your firewall a good program is
Zone Alarm: http://www.download.com/ZoneAlarm-Fir…
Install these programs and run them regulary. This will keep your system clean and running properly. These programs are free and Download.com is a part of CNET (the site that your posting on right now). Hope this helps :-)

Reply from Fire /post/171379-please-somebody-help-me-my-computer#reply-3860201 if you had a computer person on hand who knows linux, i suggest trinity rescue kit.

otherwise, if you can get clamwin to run, or avg, then try that.
