[Help] Building Self Esteem! Updates to this post /post/178597-building-self-esteem Sun, 08 Nov 2009 21:39:17 +0100 Reply from Fizz /post/178597-building-self-esteem#reply-3972746 Self esteem has nothing to do with other people, it’s how you percieve yourself. Yeah, people will knock you down every chance they get, but if you love you then you won’t stay down, you’ll rise up above it.

Reply from Fizz /post/178597-building-self-esteem#reply-3958434 I guess I could have invited you to this post, since you were a part of my inspiration Richard. Try the Doctors office, they might give you old mags for free.

Reply from Ditzy /post/178597-building-self-esteem#reply-3958021 WOW those are excellent ideas! I might have to borrow some for me and Blake coz we both suffer from low self esteem even thou we really are awesome people :)
you could get your daughter to stand in front of a mirror every morning and compliment herself - kinda like the 2 person thing above but slightly less open and weird :S esp if she is a shy person
Also ages ago I was trying to build my esteem and I tried a different way of doing things. I drew several pages of positive things about me and stuck them up all around my apartment. So every time I walked past it I would subconsciously read it. Kinda tricking my brain in to believing it. Think the official name for it is affirmation :D also funny when you explain to visitors as to why you have drawings stuck all over your walls :D
