Reply from Chameleon /post/181121-what-is-the-difference-if-any-bet#reply-3993137 It’s a guess here, but I am assuming because it is fancier? Like a suit top with skirt can be gray or black, pin striped, business-looking, but a cocktail suit is more flashy - shiny fabric, slinkier, etc.
