Reply from Elentari /post/189968-what-is-the-difference-between-boil#reply-4115025 Parboiling is boiling, except that you take the food out before it is entirely cooked (think part- boiling) and run cold water over them so they keep for later on. Mostly it’s used to partially cook things that are going to be cooked again further along in the dish, or to get the skins off of vegetables.
