Reply from randomnessma /post/191524-i-need-math-help#reply-4137307 I considered that - but given the simplicity of the other problems I assumed it WAS indeed constant.

unfortunately I don’t think you calculate this problem with simple
ratio as you have shown. Because the percentage 0.6% is not constant.
The 0.6% is applied each year to the remaining group. Unless the question
specifically says that the .6% is applied to the total. Unfortunately they don’t tell us. Typical of mathematical problems. They don’t tell you. And of course they’ll think that you’re stupid if you don’t answer properly.
Just answer it like this. It’s going to take a while.

These are all 6th Grade problems - what class are you in ?

Reply from randomnessma /post/191524-i-need-math-help#reply-4136812 perimeter = 2l + 2w 2(100) + 2(50) = 300 if you want to show your work

Reply from randomnessma /post/191524-i-need-math-help#reply-4136806 Why isn’t the length one right? 100 + 100 + 50 + 50 = 300

Reply from chicchick64 /post/191524-i-need-math-help#reply-4136784 thats right!! the formula ones are right! the length one isnt, but its okay. I have the answers, but I have to show my work and just know how to do it for tests. Thank you!!

Reply from randomnessma /post/191524-i-need-math-help#reply-4136769 A= 1/2h(a + b)

2A = h(a + b)

2A/h= a + b

[2A/h] - b = a
