Beware there are two different things.. gnome partition editor and gnu parted.. Obviously one is based on the other.. but I had more luck recovering partitions with the console parted utility. http://www.gnu.org/software/parted/in… start that thing up and tell it to guess the beginning and ends of your partitions, it will create a new partition table for you.. I honestly think it can be done.. I’m sorry if it’s all gone

the Master Boot Record,
Partition Table(s)
Boot Sectors.

There are different ways you can go at it. Just google “master boot record restore”.
