[Help] I am going to spend 3 months traveling across Europe next summer. Updates to this post /post/220695-i-am-going-to-spend-3-months-travel Fri, 27 Nov 2009 05:01:34 +0100 Reply from mcellin /post/220695-i-am-going-to-spend-3-months-travel#reply-5063771 I think the biggest expense will be hotels or hostels. For three months I reckon you will spend somewhere in the region of 600-700 euros at least for housing…depends though on how long you stay in which city, where and when…
My advice is to stay on the outskirts of cities, where hotels are cheaper. I usually book at http://www.venere.com/italy/rome for Rome hotels or use venere.com for Italy in general. As far as food goes that will be pretty cheap and I think you should consider like 400? Depends how much your budget is really!

Yeah they are a lot more expensive several thousand for one city.

No i do not plan on staying in each city equal time. I might stay in one for a week and another for a couple days. All depend on how much I like the city when I arrive (but I am aiming for at least 2 days)

I would like anything that is safe and livable (nothing that is “gross”)

I know you won’t exactly be “traveling alone” which is quite fun, although risky. And many of those trips allow you to stay extra time afterward, so you can still see the rest of europe, but the first few places were a bit cheaper.[/quote]

I thought about that but it would not allow the flexibility in traveling as I would like. I want it to be more of a roadtrip thing even though I am flying from the US to have the “roadtrip”

Yea I have it planned out pretty far. I already have the route I am going to take (which is pretty simple). But I also want it to be a roadtrip type thing where it’s not planned out to the very last day

OK, not really, but still several thousands. That information could take several hours to collate.
