And to top it all off, women dressed like angels hanging from the ceiling and an orchestra. Ridiculous.

My ideal wedding isn’t unique, it’s traditional. I guess I’m just not creative and stick to tradition too much.

Reply from Vyki /post/221973-free-cookies#reply-4539665 I never thought I would get married. I got married in a black dress, we had a fried breakfast instead of a wedding dinner and our first dance was the hokey cokey, people didn’t know we were going to do it and the reaction was fabulous, everybody joined in.

Oh ****! I never thought of that. Thank you! Instead of the traditional knife as the first wedding gift, it’s a pizza cutter. Lol.

I doubt it’ll happen though. I’m not getting married. But if I ever do, that’ll be the way to do it. Lol. That’s my dream wedding, totally backwards like me. Of course, everyone else involved would need to have a sense of humor too.

The priest could even be a biker with a Justice Of The Peace title. Hehe. But then, I’m not sure what would happen with the church. Possibly similar to Barbyman’s idea. “Just Married” would have “Just Divorced” and the car would be a hearse instead of a limo and the ceremony in the cemetary.

Heh. Wow. You’d have to have a really morbid sense of reality there. Lol.

Me? Might as well explain.

Backwards traditional. Which basically isn’t traditonal at all.

-Groom wears white dress, bride wears black tuxedo.
-No flower girl, it’s a weed boy. (Not that kind of weed…garden weeds) Page girl in a tux.
-Bride stands at the altar, groom walks down the aisle with some sort of animal giving him away (possibly a guide dog)
-Family sits at the back, friends at the front. (Hey, you CHOSE them to be in your life! At least the family got invited at all. Lol.)
There’s no cake; I’m not sure what it’ll be replaced with yet, I have to workshop it.

I just figure, not only is it still trying to keep the tradtions in place, but it’s non-traditonal as well. It’s comical, so there’s less tension and cold feet because it’s a day to REALLY enjoy (making a fool of yourselves. Lol.) Also, it’s something to treasure in the years to come.

Couple telling their children/grandnchildren of their “traditional” wedding:

“Our wedding was beautiful. Your mom looked so pretty in that veil and the blush on her cheeck could still be seen.”
“Your dad looked so handsome standing there, and I was so nervous I felt like I couldn’t walk to reach him quick enough.”

Couple telling their children/grandchildren of their backwards traditional wedding:

“It was so funny. Your mom was standing their with this big cheesey grin trying not to laugh. Your Aunt Ira was almost having hot flushes of embarrassment, and I could barely walk in those heels!”
“He looked so funny! The dog dragged him faster than he could wobble and he almost ended up in the punch bowl. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a priest lose his conduct so easily and quickly before in my life.

Yeah, first is romantic and cheesey but it’s the type of wedding that almost EVERYONE does. And EVERYONE thinks their wedding was the most perfect. What’s so perfect about a wedding that’s been done a million times like it? At least with something wild and crazy it’ll have people laughing about it still in 50 years when the memories of the groom’s boobs started creepy up to his neck and sinking down to his stomach.

How’s that for a wedding album for the mantle? Lol.

Ooooh. I need pics.

My ‘ideal’ wedding is a bit outlandish, so I’m not sure if I want to reveal it just yet. I’m a little paranoid the idea will be seen by some site roamers and it won’t be unique anymore. Lol.

Where you get married, what you wear, what you eat, everything about your wedding should be up to you. But if you don’t invite your family it will embitter them against your spouse. I know from experience. If you don’t want family meddling in the planning, then tell them up front. They have been with you your entire life, though. They deserve (at least most do) to at least be witness to what should be one of the happiest days of your lives. Of course if your family are all evil psychopaths, you make the call. Odds are, though, that they will be there for you years after your current friends are gone.
