I believe the cookies section covers that. So I would check or uncheck cookies depending on whether or not I wanted my passwords remembered.

Reply from M. Wright /post/222096-internet-explorer-being-gay#reply-4541870 That’s a good thing. The only other thing I would do is to install IE 8 and then manually update my computer, but after this or that it’s just a matter of waiting.

Reply from M. Wright /post/222096-internet-explorer-being-gay#reply-4541815 The “Fix selected issues” Button should be enabled. Please click it. It will ask if you want to back up your registry. Click yes please. A save file box will pop up. Please save it to a spot you can remember to find it at. After that, a dialog box will come up. Please hit “Fix all selected issues.” If you have any troubles as a result of cleaning, you can double click the registry file you saved to restore your settings.

Reply from M. Wright /post/222096-internet-explorer-being-gay#reply-4541584 A search for “ccleaner” (yes, it has two c’s) will usually have their website as the first hit. I researched those startup processes. None of them are remotely suspicious. Now we just need to see the results of the virus scan.

beasley Fri, 28 Nov 2008 06:51:43 +0100
Reply from M. Wright /post/222096-internet-explorer-being-gay#reply-4541566 That may be an issue, but it might not be related to the Internet problem. I would download ccleaner for that. It is a free, spyware/malware free application that can clean your computers temporary information, cookies, etc; it can manage your startup items (you will be able to remove that unlabeled process; and it can repair errors in your registry (results in a performance boost and error reduction).
