I promise, cross my heart. I know what you are going thru. My Mom passed in September of cancer. Now matter what she loves you and you love her. Life is so hard to understand or even deal with at time. Miracles happen. Just be happy in knowing you love her. you love her! I am so sorry! Just know your are strong. No matter what the road brings you, you are strong. You are loved. you are strong. take care i will be thinking of you!!! -shannon

Reply from Captain K /post/223305-a-depressing-christmas-to-be#reply-4556728 You need to understand this first God does not cause or make these things happen that is just not biblical. If you have some basic understanding of scripture it tells you this I can also point to where its written as well. God allows circumstances and such to bring people to Him and ultimatly to bring glory to God. Sometimes thats hard to see because we can’t see the other side. Second this world is not our home God has prepared a place that no human eye has seen. Our joy does not lie in material things or even the situations we find ourselves in but in knowing we are redeemed and a better life awaits us. I’m facing hard times myself but this holiday is about family and really celebrating all that God has blessed us with which is life itself. You need to place your hope in the one who came to earth 2000 years ago to set us free there you’ll find true joy and contentment. Remember also God is in control of all of this His plan is perfect even though we see all of this happening around us there is a plan and purpose for it all. Take time ot read these 2 passages and you’ll feel better I promise Matthew 6:25-34 and 1 Peter 1:3-9.

Reply from dimmingstar1376 /post/223305-a-depressing-christmas-to-be#reply-4554843 even the supposed to be happiest times cant be the hardest sad but true our economy is so screwed up that everything is going downhill including the tension within home.my best wishes and prayers to your family and you grandparents and mother. do the best you can for the holiday i dont know if you are religion im not really but the best gift you could give right now to your family that anyone could bring to their family is just being together and if you give a gift make it. as for why did God let this happen i dont think he did i think it was a consequence of taking advantage of some thing we take for granted but couldn’t be ourselves without.. free choice and uniqueness and right to an opinion and purpose

Reply from Michael Leibman /post/223305-a-depressing-christmas-to-be#reply-4554836 Holidays are always bad news — unless you’re on the good side of them. For example, suicide rates are much higher on holidays than any other time. So I guess it’s all about whether you can be on the happy side of the holiday somehow.
