I’d say next time go for a nice solid knife. lol. I learned to never get any kind of fold away thing.

I’d say this is THE everyday knife…. UK site though.

Send it back to the factory. They’ll fix it cheap or for free. They know that there are inveterate tinkerers out there.

Life Lesson No. 129: Don’t open things that have tiny springs inside!

I know. I’ve worked on things and had springs flying out and you can never figure out how they go back in . . . even if you can find them again.

Just insure it when you send it . . . and send a nice letter along. SOG makes good knives . . . and they all have little springs. The only thing more rugged would be a fixed blade knife . . . and those are a pain in the butt to carry!

I don’t know anything about knives, but I’d insist they replace it. You don’t want to rely on a tool that’s been repaired and have it break again the same way. Thank goodness this didn’t happen while you were using it, or you might’ve really hurt yourself.

I got it hours ago. So, yes I have the box and warranty, but the thing is she just she too many moving parts to be a reliable EDC knife so I need to return her. Mailing SOG a message costs money while going back to the store is a hassle and there is a guy there I would just rather not have to deal with.

if you still have the box it came in, call the number listed. some knives come with warranties. If not, look up the company online and call for advice.
